Gane is just another company man no one likes, even if he's a good fighter and non-blob at HW. Dana just can't befriend and take care of his HW champs for the life of him. And then we have the Hok, who is a gamble; his draw comes from winning fights despite his antics, and he's also undefeated, but we just saw Chimaev vs. Strickland.

Waldo is just a fight on a UFC Noche card in the making, and he's Dominican lmao. Speaking of stars, the UFC should prepare for Ian Garry defeating Islam Makhachev.
 
The switch from the banger of Flyweight to the slop of Middleweight is stark. That was fucking humiliating from 1 round Khabib who according to certain reports on X may be a nonce and kidnapper with Kadyrov's support. Not going to pretend I enjoy watching Sean but Izzy and Khamzat as title wins is impressive. Lets hope that vanishes Khamzat into the realm of never having to see or hear from him now that he's lost the 0 (or maybe the Jeets and shitskins will cope and seethe).

That co-main was great. Taira has no defence but he's tough and tried for it. Way more fun to watch compared to the main event and back and forth. Did pick Taira because of that first round and most of round 2 but Van is good. Lots of guys for him to fight next, he's cleared the stink of how he won the belt.

Buckley proved that Tariq Nasheed was right, witnessed a Buck Breaking in real time. Just shy of anal rape but the beating he took more or less makes it equivalent. Bobby Green was cool vs a washed Stephens.

Really liked Amosov's fight. Yes he's a grappler type but he's very potent and he has all these neat trips and will break his lock to hit people hard etc - very cool submission into breakdance.

But to me, Garry is the nightmare match for Islam.

The thing about Islam is that he doesn't take risks, he will never, EVER jump in the pocket like Charles oliveira, he won't overextend like Dustin and he only strikes from the outside with kicks, or while level changing to set up/feint TDs. Otherwise, Islam is fine being on the outside and having TDs on kicks and such

Morales and Prates might be bigger than Islam, but they need to be the aggressors, so if they get caught with a single leg and are not carefull, Islam can darce their asses.

Garry on the other hand is more than fine being on the defense, in fact, he thrives on it. He is a point fighter who is way rangier and taller than Islam, who can grapple with best of them, and while not a k.o artist, he can sting.

Prates, who just ate anything JDM threw at him, was stung pretty bad by Garry.

Garry plays Islam's game, but by being more than 10 cm taller than Islam, he plays with better tools, and he knows how to use it.

nah the cumshot last night is a completely different person vs the night with DDP. Sean fought the depleted cumshot and still made it even, and everyone knows that cumshot can't strike for shit. DDP is going to take the title easily.
For cumshot I think it's really over for him, but so did everyone think of Pootan when he lost to Ank, so who knows.

I do think he fucked up the fight with Chimaev either because he just doesn't have the wrestling/grappling chops or he ran on the basis that Khamzat has cardio issues and therefore just don't do anything and he will gas (which is stupid if that's what he wanted to do). At least Sean in that first round was constantly trying to get up, making him work, making him work, scramble here etc.

Yeah Chimaev fought a terrible wrestler in DDP who just held guard to avoid being submitted. And then Chimaev fought Strickland who had never even had a submission attempted against him in his entire career. Sean has better ground defense than probably anyone in the middleweight history aside from Anderson Silva. Odds on this fight were always insane.

No chance. Strickland will walk him down like the first fight. And this time he won't be as passive because of the judges. Unless Du Plessis can break Strickland's nose again he'll probably get jabbed to into a decision easily. Strickland will probably win 49-46 if he ever faces DDP again. Next fight for Strickland is Imavov, and he already beat him on one week's notice a few years ago, and Imavov is coming off of a five win streak and looks improved. Should be a good fight.
