Valentina is going to have to start fighting dudes at this rate if they actually want someone who might beat her.

Other than that the UFC has become some kickboxer sparking out 5 or 6 BJJ retards in a row until they win a title and after a couple of gimme defences some CYKA BYLAT/college wrestler comes along and ragdolls them for 25 minutes and they lose their belt by decision.

according to mma guru, the mighty guru show is over.

Islam Makhachev on his Assassin's Creed 2 story arc to restore his ancestral village of Monteriggioni Burshi.
If he carries through on his plan to have 7+ kids, he might single-handedly repopulate the village in three generations.

Kenny has taken part in canceling Guru, which I think might have played a hand in this
i can't fucking stand these niggers targeting DJ as if he's some "nazi enabler". I can understand not agreeing with guru's takes (even though it's fucking based) but going out of your way to cancel people's income is a faggot thing to do. This is the type of shit that makes people vengeful. sucks that he's british, or else he wouldn't have to give a fuck about UK speech laws

Never understood the appeal of this guy or how he even got onto a Podcast with DJ. Hopefully, he’s saved his money from the podcasting and has it invested well, because I don’t see him getting a normal 9-5.
he is funny, and clearly hiding his power level. He also represents the opinion of many MMA fans
sad to see show go, they had good chemistry and banter. But I always thought it was odd knowing DJ is PG-13 and Guru more of a NC-17 man

I think Guru is mostly annoying, but he’s sometimes funny and supremely knowledgeable in everything MMA without having trained a day in his life.

In recent months, DJ has been going out of his way to find interesting figures in the broader MMA community and amplify their presence. Early in the year, you had the Death Sentence crap, and now he’s following another amateur fighter, WingedC (who is both excruciatingly cringey and exciting to watch). It’s like every MMA fighter has a podcast for some reason, and DJ is the only one trying to make some interesting content.

DJ is a very good on-screen personality and can work with anyone. People have wanted Guru X DJ for a long time. Sucks that the show was cancelled so prematurely, but Guru will still do his own thing and his audience will probably grow because of it.

MMA is so fucking gay and soft. I think I’m going to go back to watching WWE and AEW at this point

pushing back a little bit on this but guru has trained martial arts before (taekwondo) but obviously not to the extent of a UFC fighter, let alone an amateur one.

Sucks that the show was cancelled so prematurely
according to DJ, they would continue the show if guru basically went from an 11 to a 2. guru said no because he knows he's going to say some racist shit and he's not going to compromise sponsor money or the show to neuter his comedy

MMA is so fucking gay and soft.
you would think the sport that constantly has Trump, bud light commericals, and more fucking gambling ads than a streaming website would be a bit based but no. guru was included in the UFC 300 countdown, but got removed after guru called jon jones gay.

also, i want to point this out as well. one of the main things that guru getting shit for is making from of chito's daughter, which if you actually watch the clip. there's one faggot who constantly superchats guru to goad him into shit talking chito's kid, guru tells them to fuck off which obviously gets chat to want you to say it. he made one tasteless joke, was it mean? yes but i don't think it's as bad as making racist jokes.

You know what? I'll say it, I'm not interested in the UFC anymore. This year has been a colossal disaster compared to last year. It seems that at every possible opportunity the UFC self sabotaged with the horrible matchmaking. Every big fight we had hype for under delivered or is just never gonna happen. I might check out the results the next day after an event or watch the fights later but I'm done staying up late for this absolute shitshow the UFC has become. There's zero promotion, no interesting rivalries, no trash talk. When was the last time we were entertained by a press conference like with Strickland and Izzy for example?
What is left? Jones coming back to sub Pereira? Aspinall vs Gane 2? Merab/Islam/Khamzat getting another layup?
Ilia vs Islam not happening might have been the biggest missed opportunity the UFC has had save for Ngannou.

I am no longer an UFC fan. I hate this sport.

There’s plenty of quality MMA out there, you just won’t get the big names. I feel like the past 3-5 years of UFC have been really lacking in terms of quality since they’ve obviously been trying to find the Next Big Name rather than book compelling fights. I would point some blame at COVID but the booking has had years to recover.

I watch a ton of MMA outside of UFC, so, if interested, I’ll give you my picks as to what’s worth watching. I’ll keep these in order from highest recommended to something that’s probably worth checking out/inconsistent.
RIZIN - I honestly love RIZIN. People shit on it because, let’s be real, most of their fighters have bad or nonexistent records, but there is tons of heart in display. RIZIN also employs a nice mix of MMA, Muay Thai, kickboxing, etc. so you never get bogged down with one style. RIZIN MMA rules also allow for strikes to grounded opponents, so you’ll see nice soccer kicks on downed opponents. If you can get past all of the Japanese pageantry, and don’t mind (mostly) smaller framed men and women going to war, it’s a good watch. Would recommend the supercut because these events are anywhere from 6-9 hours long with all of the theatrics and pageantry.

ONE Championship - ONE is a lot of fun to watch. Like RIZIN, they employ kickboxing, MMA, MT, etc. so you get a nice blend of action. ONE is basically a puppy mill for combat sports and there’s a lot of controversy following it; fighters not getting paid, having unrealistic expectations as far as cutting weight to make super fights, etc. Personally, I don’t care, and I find it hilarious that it’s made a huge deal that these fighters get 50,000 or whatever Baht for a good performance (which is like 20 dollars USD). I’d especially recommend ONE if you’re interested in Muay Thai.

DWCS - DWCS is better than the UFC. You’ve got a bunch of hungry young prospects who give it 100% out the gate. Not much to say, but it’s super entertaining. I can scarcely recall a DWCS showing that I felt compelled to tune off.

PFL - it’s UFC without elbows. I’d rank Bellator here, but sadly, PFL absorbed them and did nothing with their marquee fighters. Most of the fights are pretty good, but the business itself makes no sense and the matchmaking suffers from it.

LFA/CF/etc. - I call these “Fight Pass shows” because all they do is promote the UFC. Good fights to be had in all of these feeder promotions. Not much else to say, it’s MMA that’s there for you if you want it.

BKFC - Not for everyone, but a nice palette cleanser if you’ve just wasted the last hour watching an MMA event that was no more than pinning your opponents down on the ground. There isn’t much technique here… it’s a step above Redneck Brawl and Rough n’ Rowdy, but if you’re looking for carnage, you’ll find plenty of it. Lots of blood, poor/baffling reffing, and plenty of movements that will make you question someone else’s life decisions. You also get unhinged, coked out Conor McGregor commentary, if that’s your thing. I like BKFC a lot, but not in the same vein that I do MMA. This is more of a “get a load of these morons” type thing to me while having a huge grin on my face.

King of the Streets - honestly would rank #1 on the list for me, but I know this thing wouldn’t go over well with most. It’s street fighting in its purest form. Football hooligans beating the absolute fuck out of each other. The only real rule is to not die. Y’all complain about eye pokes, well, imagine if fish hooking your opponent in the eye was legal. Fights on pavement with people’s heads getting absolutely cracked against it. It’s brutal and I love it. Lots of these guys participate in BKFC too. Recent events have been a bit toned down as far as the unhinged violence, but they’re still great. If you want to see people get the fuck knocked into them and come close to dying, this is it.

Rico Verhoeven Vacates GLORY Heavyweight Title — "It's Not a Goodbye, It's an 'Until We Meet Again.'"

Article|Archive
The "King of kickboxing" has put an end to his heavyweight reign.
Rico Verhoeven has officially vacated the GLORY Heavyweight World Title, ending one of the longest and most dominant championship reigns the sport has ever seen.

After more than twelve years with the promotion and fifteen world title victories, the longtime heavyweight king announced the news through a heartfelt Instagram post, writing, “After more than twelve years, fifteen world title victories, and countless unforgettable nights, I’ve decided to vacate my GLORY Heavyweight World Title.” He thanked GLORY’s staff, fans, and investor Pierre Andurand, closing with, “It’s not a goodbye, it’s an ‘until we meet again.’”

Verhoeven joined GLORY in 2012 and quickly became the organization’s defining figure. He won the heavyweight belt in 2014, defending it against every major contender of the era while headlining sold-out shows across Europe. Whether it was his rivalries with Badr Hari and Jamal Ben Saddik or his recent resurgence against Levi Rigters, Verhoeven remained the promotion’s backbone, and its most reliable attraction.

Vacating the belt now leaves GLORY’s heavyweight division wide open for the first time in more than a decade. With the year-long Last Heavyweight Standing opening up the division, the promotion now enters 2026 without their biggest star. As for Verhoeven, he has not revealed what comes next, but his message makes clear that he is not done yet.

It seems unlikely Verhoeven would pursue heavyweight kickboxing opportunities outside of GLORY, but a one-off superfight against a boxing star like Tyson Fury, Francis Ngannou, or Anthony Joshua remains a possibility.
Rico is probably going to get some of that Saudi boxing money, but it would be hilarious beyond all words if he just swept the trash-ass UFC heavyweight division from top to bottom.

MMA"Guru" (lol) is an unfunny cringy fat nigger and a social parasite, but it's not like DJ has any integrity left either, considering how he associates himself with other clowns like Death Sentence, the 70 IQ clout chaser zoomoid from Streetbeefs (who's still less of a clown than the "Guru" as he does at least fight).
