The Slam KO last week was fine, really the follow up punches were what I found egregious. Kazama was clearly out and you could have just did the Hunt walkoff at that point.
I would throw more blame on the referee for being out of position (I think he was halfway across the octagon) than on Smith who spent most of the round throwing hands on the ground (when he wasn't grabbing/posting off the cage).
New Paramount deal seems too good to be true. Doubt fighter pay will increase, sur
Of course it won't. Some people in other promotions (most recently Salahdine Parnasse) have publicly shot down UFC's $12/$12 + Two free PowerSlap tickets contracts. Unfortunately, there are still enough warm bodies to pad out 12 fights a card for 43 events a year because a lot of MMA fighters are very stupid and their managers are probably cutting side deals with UFC.

With this new contract, there are very few good reasons why anyone should fight in the UFC for less than $40,000 win/lose/draw, earlies or prelims. But as long as there are guys are happier to say they are/were a 'UFC fighter' they'll take the peanuts and thank daddy Dana for the 'opportunity.'

I hope DDP beats Khamzat for the lulz. The last thing we need after Jones ducked out of fighting Tom is another inactive champ, and it'd be cool to see whether DDP moves up after. And with how bad Khamzat's health is, I don't think his career is gonna last much longer anyways.

Wrong guy won...
It was close. but Cannonier didn't really do anything significant in R1 or 2. Clinching and kneeing the thigh wont win rounds if the other guy knocked you down. Also didnt do enough with the ground control R3 for a 10-8. If the other fighter has competent defense MVP gets 2-3 sequences per round between dancing around, no wonder Bellator fed him cans for highlights.
