I'm a little shocked that Pereira was SO hesitant to engage regardless of the dagestani wrestling meme. I understand the threat of a takedown but Ankalaev made Pereira look like how Pereira has made everyone else look. When I saw them do that final face off with Alex in his face paint that is the first time I saw him blink and look kind of nervous not the typical stone-face as usual. Really glad I didn't bet 1k on a first round KO for Pereira I almost did lol

Well I certainly can't wait for Prochazka to knock this faggot out.
Not a chance, Jiri is a bum who was going to lose to Rakic until he got one lucky shot on the chin.
ank championship fights are going to be so shit
this is fucking disastrous
There will certainly be a rematch for Poatan though so maybe he can bounce back in the next fight.

Volk, Merab, and now Ank all cage hugged their way to belts, this has emerged as the new meta.

Either the rules need to be changed or more people need to watch Kickboxing instead.

i hate this fucking sport

What a contrast to see Robbie Lawler's HOF highlight reel and the UFC 313 main event. Robbie was a goddamn gladiator from start to finish. Prime-Robbie vs. Prime-GSP is one of the Welterweight dream fights we never got to have.

The WMMA fight should have been on the Prelims and that's being generous. Bobby Green is dusted, Fizzy vs Gaycheese was a good three-rounds. I'm glad for both of their sakes that it wasn't 5 rounds because they would both need 6-9 months off to recover from some of the shots they threw/took. I heard Justin say they don't need to fight again unless it's for a belt, which I agree with. The blessing/curse of LW is there are too many killers in that weight class, so that even a guy as dangerous as Fiziev is ranked 11, Islam is sitting atop the rankings like a Dagestani Shao Khan, and it seems that the only way anyone will break into the Top 5 at this point is if they just retire because the skill/toughness gap is just that big.

Doesn’t seem like I missed much. I just saw the clip of Green getting his head kicked off and that was super satisfying

Trying to find a spot to watch fights around me. Normally, I wouldn’t mind just throwing the money down but none of these marquee events have been worth a fuck for several months.

Is the UFC fucked? I don’t see how they get the deal they want from ESPN or any other TV/streaming provider. PPV buys are low, Connor is never coming back, their biggest star just lost the belt, and Jones will probably retire before fighting Aspinall. They’re on the brink of having zero bankable stars with a belt and a majority of the cards are pure slop.

considering they’ve probably made more money in this era than the existence of the company, i think they will be fine.

if this was the case, UFC would be filing for bankruptcy right now

I’d have preferred to see Pereira gone into him and given a standing fight and get knocked out quick than see him dwindle over the rounds

Perhaps Pereira is now thinking he should have - it carried risk but also reward; and the end result of dancing around him was a loss anyways.

Pereira could have done better and Ankalaev wanted an in-your-face fight and I think was genuinely surprised to see Pereira opt for the tango instead.

And to those pining for Connor…come on and let it go; we’re talking civil war era in UFC timelines. He got beaten; and he’s done and dusted. The fate of every UFCer eventually.
