Heart of a lion shit from Khalil. If anyone trains and has that kind of sparring round when you have nothing in the tank, it’s horrible.
watching that fight made me think he had a winning chance but seeing him get battered in the 4th round, i just kept thinking “jesus khalil is a fucking warrior”

he put up a better fight than jiri and hill could do lol

i can only imagine how those body shots felt after getting used as a punching bag

i didn’t know what i expected, but it wasn’t that. amazing performance from him, i’d like to see him back again

All the respect in the world to Khalil Rountree Jr. We knew coming in that this was going to be a Glory match with smaller gloves and that's what it was. Rountree kept his guard high and tight to ward off Pereira's left hook. He managed to tag Poatan a few times, especially with that left roundhouse kick, which probably would have put most other LHW's to sleep. And he fought like a true Nak Muay until his body couldn't keep up with his will to fight.

Light Heavyweight Pereira is his most dangerous form. At Middleweight, Alex gave up some power and a lot of chin. Rountree, who is extremely heavy handed, fired the artillery at Pereira and Pereira kept coming at him, corralling Rountree with good footwork, and picked him apart until he finally crumbled. Thankfully, Pereira is not trying to fight again this year. Who does he fight next? If Ankalaev wins at 308, he's probably going to call up the other mountain boys to take Dana hostage until he agrees to give him a title shot. A do-over with Jan would probably sell tickets and buys. Depending on how greedy Jon Jones is, if he beats Stipe, he could probably convince Dana to book him against Pereira for the Heavyweight Championship and get his last big pay day (which would also piss off Aspinall and Ankalaev). I don't believe Dricus is seriously going to up to LHW to take a beating from Pereira, but who knows what will happen.

Something needs to be done about MMA judges, because last night was totally out of line. Mario Bautista doesn't deserve a win over Jose Aldo for 12 failed takedowns and about 10 minutes of cage hugging. Likewise, Pennington got fucked over and I bet on Pena to win. I'm still going to collect it, but the judges must have been watching something else, but Pena didn't do enough to get the belt back. I looked at the official score cards for Pereira vs. Rountree and the judges went two rounds out of three to Rountree, which indicates heavy fentanyl use.

You see that ref for Almeida vs Poteria? One of the worst referees I've seen. Something like 4-5 fouls, no points taken. Any clinching was 10 seconds then separates. That is a guy who is designed to have corruption allegations thrown his way. Useless local Utah referee.

as far as i’m aware, the only real person he can defend against is Ankalaev but I prefer if Alex chilled until June or something. I don’t care for Pereira vs Jones as much as I do with Aspinall but we all know he’s going to retire after Stipe

thank fuck

UFC 310 Card is up:
1728833586598.png

Dana is not going to let 2024 end with Belal Muhammad and Merab Dvalishvili holding titles in UFC.

Kai Asakura is coming in with half his arsenal banned (soccer kicks, ground knees, stomps), but if he wins, Dana might finally break the UFC into the Japanese market. But Pantoja is tough order for anybody.

I'm ambivalent about Nick Diaz fighting again, even against a journeyman like Luque. It still chaps my ass that the then Cunt-in-Chief of the NSAC (Pat Lundvall) tried to give him a lifetime ban for smoking weed.
Reference material Even funnier that Lundvall sounds like a troon.

I hope Aljo gets back on the horse and gets a redo against O'Malley.

Edit:
Belal just got his first KO win.

out of all the cards by the end of the year, i’m pretty excited for 310. however, i saw some asakura highlights and i thought to myself “well those are illegal in UFC, so we will see how this goes”

i wanna see the diaz fight, im a diaz brothers fan

i wasn’t able to catch last nights card but im glad to see some knockouts on a fight night card. grant dawson is relatable

i don't know what i find funnier, the fact dana doesn't even get the fights for free or the fact he pirates streams just like the rest of us

dana is talking about BKFC Spain, not UFC

Conor McGregor Says MMA Is 'Suffering' and Urges Major Overhaul

Conor McGregor is dispassionate with the state of modern MMA and insists that 'there is no mainstream casual audience' for the current product.

Despite featuring two highly anticipated marquee fights in the PFL and UFC, fight fans were somewhat disappointed by the events on October 19. The PFL's landmark event and the UFC's APEX event together resulted in 15 decisions out of 20 fights.

The Bellator middleweight title fight between Johnny Eblen and Fabian Edwards in the PFL drew particular scrutiny, including from Conor McGregor, who shared a sardonic reaction to the grapple-heavy bout on social media that night.

McGregor went on to comment on the current state of MMA, and his opinion on grapple-heavy fighters ruining the public perception of the sport.

"Act like yous aren't fed up and over this bulls*** all yous want, but I won't," McGregor wrote. "It's just become the norm nowadays. The product is suffering because of it. If it wasn't for the brand name already well established it would be well in the bin by now.

"It is in the bin in the mainstream. That's a fact. There is no mainstream casual audience here. It needs calling out. Adjusting. A full review. MMA is better than what it has recently become [in my opinion]."

6 years later and Gooby is still malding (literally) over getting taken to the shed by Khabib.

I'll give him this one sliver of a valid point: The protracted cage hugging needs to be stopped and it can be with an explicit rule change. Failed takedowns count towards the fighter who denies the takedown.
