commentators are saying he was up 2 rounds to 1Awesome come back sub from Du Plessis. Adesanya was cruising to a decision win.
You have to put relentless pressure on Izzy like Strickland did. He finally did and it paid off.

When Shara Magomedov fought in June, DC genuinely spent about 50 seconds trying to describe a gif he saw on twitter.commentators are saying he was up 2 rounds to 1
I think they were talking about the official fight cards not their own assessment, could be wrong. That judge had to have accidentally switched the columns around and not realized which column he was scoring in.When Shara Magomedov fought in June, DC genuinely spent about 50 seconds trying to describe a gif he saw on twitter.
In general the commentary team are as good at observing the fights as that one judge who got fired in the middle of the event today
It hasn't been the same since Hunt retired.I think they were talking about the official fight cards not their own assessment, could be wrong. That judge had to have accidentally switched the columns around and not realized which column he was scoring in.
Watching the Samoans fight is the best but its been rough lately Tui on a 6 fight losing streak now and the fight with Tafa sucked.
Edit: official scorecards
I think DDP may have just won without the submission as he was going to take round 4 even if he didnt get the finish.

it seems like the gameplan to beat izzy is just to walk him down for 5 rounds
Prosecutors in Santa Clara County, California, dubbed Cain Velasquez a would-be “judge, jury, and executioner” and said he still faces prison time after the retired UFC star pleaded no contest on Friday to attempted murder and other charges for engaging in a 100 mph pursuit and shooting at a truck in 2022 in search of the man accused of molesting his then 4-year-old son at a day care.
Velasquez, now 42, had faced possible mandatory life behind bars, albeit with potential parole, if he went forward with a September trial and ended up convicted in the case, but according the Mercury News, he has avoided both the trial and likely the theoretical worst case scenario given the plea, even though the judge will retain discretion under a negotiated disposition between the state and the defense over whether to dole out probation, a prison sentence, or life, whenever that sentencing proceeding occurs.
I can't blame him for taking the deal. He did the right thing in a communist shithole.I completely missed this since I wasn't expecting any news before the trial, but, as part of a plea deal to take a mandatory life sentence off the table, Cain Velasquez has pleaded No Contest to his attempted murder and various assault charges, stemming from his failed attempt to Gary Plauche the dude he claims sexually assaulted his kid. No details on what he'll actually get sentenced too, but the DA has said it still includes jail time:
It sucks that it went down the way it did but Cain should have been smarter in cornering the guy before attacking him, do we know anything about the pedo?I completely missed this since I wasn't expecting any news before the trial, but, as part of a plea deal to take a mandatory life sentence off the table, Cain Velasquez has pleaded No Contest to his attempted murder and various assault charges, stemming from his failed attempt to Gary Plauche the dude he claims sexually assaulted his kid. I don't blame him for taking a deal, I am a little surprised at how non-specific it is though. Other than the prosecutors dropping the pre-meditation claims (which came with a mandatory life sentence) there's no sentencing recommendation as far as I can see, so theoretically he could still get turbo fucked by the judge.I can't blame him for taking the deal. He did the right thing in a communist shithole.
Yeah my only issue is how he went about it. If he'd have just walked up and domed the guy he'd ironically likely have been in a much better place. Getting into a fucking car chase and then randomly blasting away at the car, and not even hitting the right person really fucked him.It sucks that it went down the way it did but Cain should have been smarter in cornering the guy before attacking him, do we know anything about the pedo?
Any deal is better than staying in the Nigger House for the rest of your life. He's still looking at possible decades in there, though.I can't blame him for taking the deal. He did the right thing in a communist shithole.

Anyone here watching the CJI?
It’s probably the best grappling tournament I’ve seen in a hot minute, and I’ve never seen so many people talk about a submission grappling tournament as this one.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=HkwFwGYtqfkJust amazing, these dudes are killers and neither wanted to give an inch that wasn’t taken.
I didn't even know it was possible to be so incompetent as an MMA judge to get pulled. They hire people who can barely even think how far down the IQ bell curve do you need to be?!?
The judge wasn't incompetent, the commission that hired it (which isn't the UFC) was. Booth clearly was malicious, calling it an 'oopsie' doesn't do it justice.I didn't even know it was possible to be so incompetent as an MMA judge to get pulled. Anecdotally seen twitter BJJ accounts say that they have had an influx of new students coming in after watching this event. People with no combat sports background. If that is the case, it’s a massive success.Anyone here watching the CJI?

Judges giving a fellow national a tasty home cooked scorecard is so not new that most of us just shrug about it.The judge wasn't incompetent, the commission that hired it (which isn't the UFC) was. Booth clearly was malicious, calling it an 'oopsie' doesn't do it justice.
The guy owns a NZ MMA gym that apparently some of these guys were affiliated with, you can probably fill in the blanks regarding why he might not be completely neutral when it comes to scoring fights with aussie/kiwi athletes.
Honestly, pulling him wasn't enough, he needs to be blacklisted to prove a point.
