chuck lidell, the first mainstream ufc star wouldn't have been half as iconic and recognisable without his crazy electric blue shorts. his image was such an undeniable part of his whole 'aura' which made him a superstar, and that would have been so majorly diminished without his shorts

Adesanya must be absolutely seething right now.

Not only has he been completely upstaged from his knockout celebration of Pereira, but this is Pereira solidifying himself as a dominant champion who's exciting to watch and that people love. Not since Jon Jones has LHW had order restored in this way.

That's how Adesanya thought of himself, as the next Anderson Silva. He was dominant, but boring as fuck to watch and became increasingly faggy and unrelatable, then downright cringe.

Frankly, I don't think Adesanya is capable of creating a sequence as badass as what Pereira did tonight. He has the skill somewhere in him probably, but he's a massive faggot with main character syndrome.

Seeing your nemesis outdo you in every way possible after baiting them to chase your belt must really fuckin sting. Couldn't have happened to a better guy.

I love how Alex paws at the opponents lead hand to take away their jab and subsequently unable to set anything up. If they throw a rear hand hook they are way out of range and will likely be countered by a short left hook.

Izzy knows to throw over it, Jamahal was holding onto his wrist knowing he was in deep shit very quick, Alex didn't even really need to do anything but walk in and smack in the face when he figured out Hills striking level was worldstarhiphop quality.

I only caught the last few rounds of Justin and Max and Alex. Called nearly everyone of them and mov or double chance prop, aside the lesbo fights and miller and justin.

If I had have bet large I could have bought Kiwi Farms frens.

Before this fight I watched some of Hill's fights, and the dude falls into the MMA territory of "can't jab a southpaw", as the southpaw, which is amazing. He spent a good deal of time against Glover in orthodox to jab him. Against Santos the jab appeared every time Santos switched southpaw, vanished when Santos returned to ortho. 2-3 minutes in and Alex gets dialled into him being not very good on the feet and just destroys him.

Not even the worst decision making of the night from Hill. That is Jalin Turner who thought he would get a meme one punch finish against Moicano, didn't follow up, and then got taken down and tkoed by a guy he had all but finished the round before.

Edit, found it. This is the same guy who gave Bobby one of the most horrific late referee stoppages last year so that 300k bonus really clouded him:

These Dagestanis can shoot a double on your shadow and somehow end up in full mount 5 seconds later.

They are the biggest threat to MMA as a sport at the moment because they can turn any fight in any division into 3/5 rounds of wrestlefuck grinding misery.

I love watching good wrestling but casual fans aren't going to pay to see Maglevamov Magamagalev ragdoll their favourite flash knockout kickboxer for 5 rounds.
 
out of all the high ranked dagestanis in the ufc, I think magomed is probably the least talented, having been fluked by that bum Paul Craig, and getting a draw against Jan who's in his fucking 40s.
but Alex's wrestling is non existent, so I can see him getting wrestlefucked for 5 rounds, or subbed, if ank can actually not be a retard.

i think it would be really funny if he tried to stand with Alex. Alex is so lucky that every opponent he's had is apparently retarded or he has plot armor or something, because no one ever tries to wrestle with him, except for fucking ADESANYA who's wrestling is as bad as Alex's. yes, let me, the bum from the UFC apex, stand and bang with poatan

When knees and stomps to 'downed' opponents are not allowed you can just dive at your opponent's legs without much risk. In Pride that style of wresting would get you knocked out more than half the time and was high risk. With UFC rules you can just kneel in front of your opponent and they are no longer allowed to use strikes with their legs or feet.

Ankalaev forgot he knew how to wrestle for the first 3 rounds vs Jan. He couldn't handle the striking of Jan and his leg almost gave out twice from unchecked kicks.
He suddenly remembered he could wrestle then proceeded to blanket Jan for rounds 4/5. The retard judges ruled it a draw. Jan was robbed.

He tapped out to Paul Craig with 1 second left in a fight he was dominating.

Hit Walker with an intentional illegal knee. He should have been DQ'd for that.

He has all the tools to be LHW champ but goes full retard too often.
 
I think Pereira should go up to heavyweight in the next 12 months as I think he could get to the top of it given the state it's in.

I'd say fight Ankalaev at LHW and then maybe rematch either Jiri or Jan depending on how their next fights go. If he beats them, there's not much left for him at LHW.

By the time he moves up to HW, Jones and Stipe will of probably fought and retired. I think he can fuck up a fair bit of the top 5. I guess there's a threat from Aspinal and grapplers like Blaydes and Almeida. I think he just needs a good 12 months of defensive grappling in preparation.

Pereira is what Chandler thought he was when he first entered the UFC. Not here for a long time, but here for a good time. If he manages to get his HW matchup for the memes, then it's all fun. Heavyweight has maybe 4-5 good fighters for the division (which means they are still quite bad - Gane got 2 title fights without knowing how to wrestle).
