IDK, they already have a built in story for Leon Chimaev, in that they made the fight 3 times and it kept falling through. He's fighting Nate in the most obvious "build up hype" fight, so maybe make that, get Usman to fight someone he hasn't yet, then do Usman-Chimaev (this fight gives me zero hope that Edwards will be a long time champ unless he seriously fixes his backing up to the fence).


Wasn't just a hope and fire, he had been setting it up with is low and body kicks. Usman hung around at long range too much and got hit by the Rob Whittaker special while ducking into it. 1-fake 2- high kick.

What gets me is the line by Anik that "well he's not cut from that cloth" as if to remind the others that he's not done and just as he says that, he murders Usman. Seems nothing can get Edwards to go nuts, he's always going to look to set something up.

Really the big lesson to take away from this is that Leon has zero excuse not to be finishing his opponents. Coasts all the damn time when it's just safer to knock the guy out.

Also, is it me or was Herb Dean (who sucks cock as a ref) being an in house referee? Ignores all of Usman's fence grabs, second he sees Leon grab the fence, breaks the action. Seemed to have selective blindness.

The fence grab from Leon was more egregious, where he pulled himself up. When Usman touched the fence his fingers fell through, but it didn't change the positioning of the fight.
All in all, if Usman pressed on for another minute he would've sealed his legacy, but now he'll have to fight for it.
