Genuine question, but when was the last time his commentary wasn't abysmal?
RIP to Rory, it's a shame he got so fucked up in the Lawler fight because he never seemed the same again.

I remember being surprised that the commentary during UFC 277 didn't grind my gears as much as I expected for example. I mean, it wasn't "Ode's winning although we're barely three minutes into the fight"-bad. Either way, I just wish Felder got more commentary gigs during big events because he usually keeps the other commentators from going too off-track.

I don't really mind DC's commentary when he's talking about the technical stuff, especially the wrestling part since I'm not too knowledgeable about it myself. He does have a hard time separating his bias in fights for sure though.

It's a hard won thing given how many bellends there are in MMA, but I think Luke might take the award for most annoying and delusional at this point.
I think it says a lot about the state of DC that the best you can say about him is less that he was good, and more that he didn't annoy you quite as much as normal

I mean, he's not wrong given how the division has nothing going on. Who are they going to give ti Izzy if he beats Pereira? Strickland? Just saw him get KO'ed in one round as a sacrifice to Pereira. Brunson 2? Got chinned by Izzy in 1 and Cannonier also put him away. Costa 2? Got raped by Izzy. Hermansson? Can't beat Strickland or Cannonier, how will he beat Izzy. At least there might be some interest here. I really hope Pereira knocks Izzy out so we don't have to continue watching bad middleweight fail to push him to do anything more than a jab and low kick. That's all he's done in his last 3-4 fight, including the one which he lost against Jan.

Pereira always seemed to have been a shit matchup for Adesanya from their days in kickboxing. Especially with these less than enthusiastic performances we've seen out of Izzy since the Blachowicz fight.
Pereira is physically stronger than Adesanya too so its going to be difficult to take things to the ground.

Eh, Kickboxing Izzy was beating him clearly before getting dusted. Current Izzy now I'm not sure. His kickboxing seems to have regressed fighting these not very good fighters who don't challenge him to do anything other than jab and low kick. He also now has done the champion's adjustment and become more withdrawn and conservative with his style.
I hope Pereira knocks him out, I can't bear watching this guy big himself up and then calf kick his way to a boring win, before doing something strange like pretending to vomit down his dog's throat.

Dvalishvili seems a bit chinny, even flushed Moraes almost finished him.

I feel that we all too emotionally invested in Aldo and his anti wrestling abilities.
I don't want to doompost but I can kinda see Merab take Aldo down and get the lead to win on points.

If this was Aldo from 5 years ago, I would be confident, but it's old man Aldo now with his 18-19 years of fighting, so this could be very, very depressing. He's also pretty much indicated that he plans to win this fight, win the belt next, then retire, so if he loses here we might see a retirement.
I hope that if it goes bad, he doesn't retire and we can get one last fight between him and Dom Cruz for a fun WEC era sendoff. Two old guys doing one last dance.

I mean, he's been on a run lately. Vera, Munhoz, Font - all in top 10 if i remember correctly, and Vera looks unstoppable right now.
The only real setback he had in Bantamweight was Yan, in Dvalishvili is not on his level.

True, but none of those are insane pace wrestlers. The closest thing to it was Font who tried this Holloway lite approach, and who Aldo basically losing until he found the kill shot in each round. With how exhausting wrestling is, it would be peak sad moment for ancient Aldo to finally get out wrestled.

Aldo used to be such a stud with takedowns defense.
Mendez only landed one in the rematch and he did nothing with it.
12.5% accuracy as opposed to 55% usually.
I don't think we will see a tdd defense clinic.
I see Aldo catching and hurting Merab(great counters and Merab can be reckless) or Merab taking Aldo down and hurting/gassing him too much for him to recover.

Dude carried a bottle with "SECRET JUICE" in big letters to it, then after weighing in he pulled his pants down and complained about USADA waking him up at 7am to do a blood test. Nothing more chad than going "ALL NATTY" and then telling the commission that is meant to ensure that he isn't "ALL NATTY" that they are complete dogshit.
Also, Luke caught staring at Costa's dick.
