I think I have to take a break from watching UFC events now, I can feel the anticipation-reward cycle starting to tip heavily into high anticipation - low reward. I can feel my resentment growing.
That was hands down, the worst card of the year. On paper there are some real shit cards, but that keeps expectations low, and usually there is one fight that is fun/ok. This was shit from top to bottom, and it had hype around it. Next two weeks are looking like trash as well. Women's Bantamweight PPV main event in 2022, followed by Thiago "Snooze" Santos and Jamahal Hill in what will be almost guaranteed to be a 25 minute bore fest as Santos scares Hill into being slow paced, then losing by not doing enough.

Week after that should be ok since it's Chito and Dom Cruz, guaranteed to be very fun.

Kai vs Moreno should be good :P

It's Kai and Moreno which is really the only fight worth watching. They also have Pantoja Perez, but I'm not putting any faith in Perez not fucking up before the event and getting pulled. Rest of the PPV is Ankalaev-Smith and Lewis-Pavlovic. Prelims are sad. Apex fight night quality.

word, i was honestly kinda hyped for a lot of the fights, but few actually delivered at all. paddy and molly were fun, they're winning me over even though they're br*tish, but other than that, the card was pretty fucking miserable. not gonna catch the next couple events live, i don't reckon. not worth staying up for

Fight Night events are always kind of shit.

A bunch of mediocre fighters having usually boring fights in an attempt to break into the top ten. You might get lucky with the main event being interesting or you'll get to witness a rising star but it's mostly just b-tier shit.

Not even as entertaining as Bellators events because they usually have a few hilarious mismatches.

Kill womens MMA already.
Amazing that the adjustment Nunes came up with to a slip jab was not to learn the obvious counters to a slip jab (an uppercut, an overhand, a lead high kick etc), but instead to change her entire stance to southpaw for the entire fight.

Got a Prachnio-Alvey shot though which was magical.

Soyreno won a paper belt though, so guess we have that 4th fight soon. Hope Pantoja gets the winner, he deserves it after walking through Perez.

Same here. This should seal the deal.

Wtf robocop signed to One. I thought he was all but confirmed to go to the UFC? I wonder how much money they're paying him.
I really wanted to see him fight in the UFC to see how he'd do against the middle and welterweight divisions.

Maybe he'll fight De Ridder? Fucking weird, I mentioned the two of them as being the best fighters outside the UFC a couple days ago, but I never imagined they'd fight.

One, in spite being a sinkhole for money with their financials out of whack, pay out the ass for top talent in other organisations. The UFC, by having such a stranglehold on mainstream MMA, want to pay these guys as little as possible. Unless they are some American talent who their mainstream American audience would get behind like Chandler, they want their fighters to be paid as little as possible.
