man great card tonight.

I think thats someone else. Askar Mozharov, who is fighting/debuting on the same card against Alonzo Menifield.

Apparently he legally changed his name from Artur Sadkov, who had a bunch of losses. He now has 4 more losses than initially believed.
yes you were right, man that guy was a fraud, got his ass handed to him tonight.

what the hell lol? this is real, but it's so fucking random that i seriously thought it was a meme.
this is the most crackhead match up lmao. mvp vs platinum in bkfc, in 2022. i'm sorry i can't get over how odd that is lol. i'll tune in though, too strange not to watch, which I suppose is the idea?

Guess after MVP's last fight, they decided to lend him out to BKFC where he can't be taken down. That MVP Storley fight is up there in the running for 2nd worst fight of 2022 (Esparza Namajunas 2 is number 1).

I like both guys but I really hope Glover somehow pulls this off. Otherwise, this is kind of an underwhelming line-up, but serviceable nonetheless considering the amount of shitty cards we've had this year. Next week's one looks amazing though.

I'm rooting for Jiri, if only so I can hope for a Central Europe fight with Jan. The next few fight cards are damn good on paper. Kattar-Emmett live fight night with a few other good fights, Tsarukyan-Gamrot in a relevant Lightweight prospect fight (thanks McNuggets and Tony for taking up ranks 9 and 10), and then we have the next PPV, which is proper stacked.

Transbender defends against Cannonier in what should be an entertaining squash match because Cannonier doesn't wrestle, and if he does it will be funny, the actual p4p number 1 fighter finishes off this trilogy against Holloway, Pereira and Strickland, O'Malley gets a favourable matchup, but one that could prove to be a surprising test for him in Munhoz, Brad Riddell and Jalin Turner in a meme height mismatch, Lawler Barbarena in what could be a very violent war, Muniz and Du Plessis appear, and old vets Jim Miller and Bobby Green square off. Top to bottom filled with fights you should care about.

Even past that we have interesting main events, Dos Santos and Fiziev in what I think might be a surprisingly tough test for Fiziev, Ortega and Yair in what will be a likely very violent and fun fight, and then the next London card, which doesn't seem to be as fun as the other one this year, but gives Aspinall probably the hardest fight in the division, next to Francis in Blaydes.

All looking very good for the forseeable future.

Fight stats of Glover/Jiri (and Hollowy,Trannybender for reference)

Jiri's striking defense looks really bad on paper, but I think it's actually not that bad because his distance management and head movement is solid. He gets touched often but it's not like getting beaten up badly.

Jiri's low & wide-ish stance makes him susceptible to leg kicks, and his crazy high output will gas him out in the long run, but I doubt Glover can take advantage of those holes. Also, Glover's takedown/clinch entry isn't that great and he relies on high guard a bit too much (which opens him up to certain strikes like uppercuts).

Overall I think it's a good stylistic match up for Jiri and he KOs glover with uppercut, front kick or knee.

Though it would be hilarious if Glover manages to "Sorry Jiri, it's part of the job".

because his distance management and head movement is solid.
His distance management fucking sucks, and his head movement isn't that good either. I really don't get how you see it any other way. Glover will KO Jiri, or at least a big shot will be the reason it goes to ground and he gets submitted. Maybe Glover gets rocked but I will be very surprised if he loses, maybe if Jiri pours it on very early but otherwise no.
I'm prepared to get egg on my face for this but I really don't see Glover losing other than what I just mentioned.

Ha! Well played, however I still feel extremely vindicated.
Jiri has really bad distance management, don't confuse reach with distance management. Jiri has a huge reach advantage and he doesn't utilize it properly. The amount of times Glover was able to get to his hips in situations he should have been able to was immense.
As far as Glover goes he made a lot of mistakes, he was obviously tired but come on that was really bad. I also think it was a big mistake sitting back waiting for counters and takedown opportunities. In the last 2 rounds Glover was doing that and he dominated him. Jiri won't defend his belt unless he starts to properly utilize his reach!

I've been a fan of Jiri ever since I saw his barnburner of a fight against Nemkov in 2015 and I'm just proud to see him make it to the top in the UFC after years of entertainment in RIZIN.

That was the most light-heavyweight fight possible. Lots of really dumb decisions being bailed out by athleticism, combining together to make a really stupid but fun fight with a complete meme ending. Glover has 1 submission loss in his career, and it's from this spastic Czech samurai larper.

I never expected Glover would get reverse Glover'ed. I knew Jiri's BJJ was good but fucking hell. Glover's takedowns were well set up this time, he probably has a few more fights in him.

The last guillotine attempt was a mistake in a hindsight (should've gone for a standing guillotine at least) but he was so tired to the point he submitted to a half-assed RNC, I don't know if he could keep throwing punches.

I personally wanna watch Jiri vs Adesanya, but it's Jan I guess.

It's not just reach. Jiri's distant management is good mainly due to footwork. Just rewatch how he avoided Glover's combination attempts, that doesn't happen just from a longer reach. It's not Adesanya/Volk level of good but still pretty good for a LHW.

I think the Glove would have had it if he kept it standing the last round, Jiri was getting pretty cooked. Really good card for the most part though! 49-46 though...

I feel like audience was a little bit too hot after Jędrzejczyk vs Zhang so they have to cool it down with Shevchenko vs Santos.

When you are gassed as hell, you default to what you are most comfortable with, which for him is the ground. Sees the neck, defaults to jumping guillotine.

Edit: Not mine, but someone got one hell of a lucky break. 401:1 odds, and it happened.
