Jorgay forgot he's just a journeyman with a punchers chance.
It was funny seeing the mainstream media think he was a elite for awhile while totally unaware of the fact that he's still basically the same guy that lost to Toby Imada and Rodrigo Damm.

He just had a streak of really beneficial matches and the UFC marketing machine to really take him to that short lived next level.

I still think Askren would have probably wiped the floor with him if he didn't have the hips of Hulk Hogan at that point in his career.

People I knew were going "why are you not hyped for this match?" This is why. He's going to get outworked/outwrestled, and if he gets shots off, he's not going to capitalise because he's either gassed or doing a classic Masvidal of thinking it's enough to win him the round.

That RDA Moicano fight was brutal. Imagine taking that fight on a weeks notice and being on the end of a massive shit kicking for 5 rounds.
Conor is legit shot and him beating a top five 155er at this point in his career would be an upset. He should just do the fourth fight with Dustin or third fight with Nate and pack it up.

Eager to see how Chimaev does against Burns next month. If he's as dominant as he's been against his other opponents he should fight the winner of Usman vs. Edwards.
RDA called for Conor in the post fight press conference, and that is a fight I would like to see. There is history there when both guys had their respective belts and were meant to fight, but RDA got injured and the McGregor-Diaz 1 fight happened, he lost, so RDA moved on and fought Eddie Alvarez, dropping the belt. He was also the backup for Poirier-McGregor 3 and got into a backroom scuffle with McGregor, so the animosity and selling point is there.

It's a good fight to make and RDA can get some of that leftover McGregor money. It is also one where I think RDA could be an absolute nightmare matchup for Conor. Southpaw (which McGregor's game is not designed to fight) with strong leg kicks, always pressuring, high cardio, and likes to wrestle a lot, even if he's not the best at it. It's like a shorter Nate Diaz but good. Of course, Dana being the greedy bald man he is would rather Conor get an undeserved title fight, making a complete mockery of the division.

I think Burns-Chimaev should be good, even though Chimaev has the size advantage. Man is a middleweight fighting at welterweight against a former lightweight. If he blows him apart easily, he should be next in line or up for a title eliminator.

Jorge whining again in post-fight press conference.
MAGA Covington 2024
I don't understand why this is such a common statement in the MMA community. Jorge said it how it was, he lost simple as. I'm happy he didn't make up any stupid excuses like drinking before fight night like Paula Costa.

Maybe I should rewatch the press conference, but it's the feeling I got watching him yesterday. A fucking salty bitch who doesn't concede that Colby is the superior fighter.

I don't really care about the main fight
I am very interested in the main card starter fight between Alex Pereira vs Bruno Silva. My predictions, if the fight stays stand Alex by KO/TKO

Oh yeah. That's definitely an interesting one, but sadly it's not on the upcoming card. I know close to nothing about Bruno, but judging from his record, he seems like an explosive, "KO artist" type, just like Pereira. For now, I think it'll be a fight of the night, but given Pereira's accomplishments, I'm going to go with Pereira by UD.

I have to watch some Bruno Silva though to get an idea of his technique. Claiming two performance bonuses in the UFC and the M1 Championship are not meaningless

Banger poster, bummer fight.
Dana needs to wake the fuck up when it comes to FLW. When you have Grasso and Joanne fucking Wood as the co-main over the #1 contender fight for FLW which includes an undefeated Dagestani wrestler and an entertaining FLW that actually has knockout potential you are not properly promoting.
I'm sure he's still scarred from the DJ era because those PPVs sold jack shit but this is too much. Now he's just making the poor selling potential of the FLW division a self-fulfilling prophecy.

It's the casuals and Dana's always been a fag about 125. It's why they continously book unranked heavyweight fights on the main card, because size determines watchability to a lot of, if not most, casual fans.

But like I said, that's a self-fulfilling prophecy. I really don't think weight is as big of a factor as it once was, still significant but these days the only fights that are sold primarily on weight are HW fights. It's much more about storylines than it ever was because there's so much more room to get information across. Casual fans are influenced more than ever by word of mouth and what trends on twitter or whatever. The boomer cazzies not so much but the UFC has a relatively young viewership. In any case the time to start putting some money into FLW marketing is now, BW is the best division now and FLW is primed to be one of the best in coming years if it isn't already. The time of manlet is upon you dana, and you will feel the wrath of a million ankle bites...

Trying to explain that DJ and all these flyweights are some of the most skilled fighters on the roster is completely countered by "yeah but he's tiny, I could beat him" by casuals.

It's why they keep throwing heavyweight or light heavyweight fights, without a doubt the worst divisions, on main cards every time. Big man = cool to the average person.

He also did have a seller of a champion in Moreno, the pop he got for that third fight as all the Mexicans and Mexican Americans got in to see their champion, and well... Didn't last at all. Flyweight is a shallow, but rough division. Everyone has already fought everyone at some point. Moreno has fought Fig x3, Askarov, Pantoja x2, KKF and Royval for example. They desperately need new talent to come in and rise up the ranks.

Brit bongs must be jizzing themselves. Great fight night and lots of finishes. So many wins with hype finishes. Aspinall makes Volkov look like he didn't belong in there with him, Arnold Allen did the same. Pimblet looked like ass for 10 seconds before getting a sub. His teammate Molly McCann got one of the best finishes for Women's flyweight with a spinning elbow that looked like it killed her opponent, Topuria faced some adversity before turning his opponent into a ragdoll animation, and lots more in the prelims.

Hooker vs Diaz would be a fun matchup, assuming Hooker got dominated by Allen.

I'll have to watch the fight to see if it was really an early stoppage, though.

There is an argument for it being early, though Hooker got hit a lot and it ended with him shelling up on the fence doing nothing to return fire. The speed difference was ridiculous and the land rate was something like 50 to 14 to Allen.

Okay Hooker really got shredded badly here. Still, Allen needs to keep his guard up and stop swinging wildly. That way, he'll dominate the division more easily and avoid getting caught with left hooks like the one Hooker threw in the first clip

Uncharacteristically aggressive swang and bang performance from Allen. He's usually very measured, fights behind a nice southpaw jab, makes adjustments as the fight progresses, usually has good shot selection, and has competitive fights that he clearly wins. Seems like the O2/London crowd might have made him decide to go for it and throw lots of haymakers. Would have been nice to see some body work instead of all head hunting, but it worked for him here.

Called out Kattar in the interview, which has banger/fight night main event written all over it. I would like to think that the ever tough Kattar won't get finished by such a sloppy flurry by Allen, so he's going to go at it with the usual measured performance he normally does.
