The greatest moment in UFC history occurred during the prelims.

Example number #125 why jumping guillotine is a retarded move. Edmen Shahbazyan jumps guillotine, opponent gets out, ends up on bottom and finished. Well done, just lost your rank because of that. I keep being convinced that this kid could be something in the future, and he keeps fucking up.

Chris Curtis with the Metal Gear Revengence song walkout. That makes him my pick.
FUCK YEAH! 1 day notice, doesn't matter. Revengence song is the best base.

Well, Alex Pereira had a debut almost similar to Adesanya. One round of being pressed up against the fence by a guy who usually bangs, the guy gasses, and then gets finished. Arguably more impressive considering he flying kneed him. You know they are going to give him the most ideal matchups to push him to a UFC title shot. Almost certainly give him Till, probably Cannonier, maybe Brunson to check if his takedown defence is up to snuff. The man is coming in older at 34 years old, so if they want to make it happen, they are going to give him the best matchups and force the fight.

Chandler doing the "Hit me harder" taunt thing that Masvidal likes doing but making it look cool by not getting KTFO'd after is fucking great.
I really hope that this isn't the most exciting fight tonight, though. It would leave a bad taste.

I thought he was stalling to get some gas back. I think he definitely hurt Gaethje, since Justin didn't go nuts on a guy with his hands down. There was some sort of reason why he didn't go for the finish at that last minute. Maybe those body shots really took the wind out of him, maybe he didn't want to get caught and respected his power. Chandler still has the chin on him, so long as he can see the punch coming.

For sure, Chandler was banking on Gaejthe not going in for one reason or another. He had his arms near his waist for a full 2 minutes and took a ton of clean head shots. He knew that Justin wouldn't fully go in.
Still looks cool though and it's a good example of mentally conditioning your opponent, made more potent by the commentary team making a point about how Gaetjhe being the one that gets in people's heads.

Sleeper banger here with Burgos and Billy Q. Shame it's coming after Gaethje and Chandler.

Jesus, this is a good fight, it just happens to be after the big one. Shane is frustrating to watch. Dude is so long and tall, but he fights as if he's a short man, bobbing and weaving, eating unnecessary shots and not being defensively as responsible as he should be.

Despite how much MMA has evolved in the last decade, why do the fighters still have very little head movement?

IDK. Basic movement should not be too difficult to incorporate. Some argue that it increases the risk of taking a kick or knee to the head, which is true (Petr Yan eats flying knees all the time), but basic movement shouldn't be hard to use.

There should be more because so many people don't hit the body enough. Dominick Cruz made his career on having his hands low, moving his head and having people swing at air. Same thing Izzy did with Vettori every time he got close to the fence. Burgos really isn't a great example of head movement. Dude eats like 3 shots for every 1 he rolls, really frustrating to watch.

Yet another potential banger here. Chito Vera is almost a guarantee that someone will bleed once he gets out of first gear.

Back when I trained, my instructor always told us to use blocks over slipping, but to still utilize head movement as much as possible. He said we should only use slips as a last resort sort of thing, since the risk was so much higher. He also had generally a "basics are better" kind of philosophy, and while he did teach us more advanced techniques, kept reinforcing that you could know nothing but a few kicks and punches with no fancy shit and still be an amazing fighter. Looking back, he's right. Too many Anderson Silva wannabes.

Same thing that makes Yan so effective. Dude does slip and move, but key is his tight high guard. Yes, there are gaps in the body shot and he ducks into the odd flying knee, but it keeps him safe and he's not stupid, so he has ways of dealing with those. Compare this to generally good boxer Shane Burgos. Dude wants to slip everything and eats so many unnecessary shots when a guard will suffice. The other thing guys could learn is slipping after throwing/slipping as they throw, so many throw and then sit there admiring their work.

I forgot that Chito's boxing isn't great, and he usually has to catch a clinch to fuck someone up. He also seems to always have a new tattoo everytime he fights.

Exactly. So many people try that fancy shit and it backfires eventually.

Classic Chito Vera. Fucking useless for the first round in boxing, then halfway into round 2 realises "why am I boxing, I should just walk this guy down, clinch, and throw elbows and knees". Also it's always the same conversation with his coach. "How are you feeling? Get going".

Chito is pretty good at cutting off the cage.
LMAO, Joe and DC bitching about people calling them shit. Cry more.

Rose showing signs of mentally cracking already before the fight imo. She's one of these fighters who "fights for therapy".

Rose being susceptible to low kicks as usual.

Good fight IQ from Rose in the 5th, basically no takedowns the whole fight, first time she goes in after many feints, it's a shot in. Weili with that Chinese-tier game off her back. Have a feeling this is going to be a split decision.
