AI's got a lot of problems but hating on AI has become so homosexually pozzed that it's not even worth.
So much as we go a thread on it. I get a lot of the hate, but much like any other topic ripe for flamewars, there's always a bunch of faggots and bad faith actors who make any real discussion of it into a shit flinging contest.

What are people using for their go to JVM these days? and what Java args are you using to get the most performance from it?
It was on the previous page.
If you want more Minecraft performance optimizations, mostly Java version information and Java flags, this GitHub is very useful.

There was an older GitHub that I think this one is based on, but I'm pretty sure it got deleted or I just lost it.

In between doing schoolwork I'll just play for a little bit before getting back to the schoolwork. You know how it is, after so much time reading textbooks you need a little break. My current project is redoing an area of the world I used to have a little town is, but I want it different now so I moved the cathedral elsewhere and am making a plaza type area around it slowly but surely.

I roughed out an area and slowly added paths and flowers and hedges and such, it's a good way to reset the brain before going back to studying.

Insanely keyed, that looks sick.

I finally started up a new minecraft world a few weeks ago out of boredom from my new shift leaving me with too much spare time and not wanting to start Skyrim again for the hundredth time. I figured I'd make a minecraft world and farm ice again. Something about breaking ice really relaxes me. Plus there's been enough updates I was curious about seeing what it was like these days.

It's the first time I've played Minecraft in years. I've watched Hermitcraft off and on over the years (though not since that Iskall thing) and made a world for my little cousins a few times over the last few years, so I was familiar with some of the newer update features but mostly vicariously through watching my cousins blow shit up. When I last really played for any length of time people were still shooting Punch II bows in their own ass to fly. 1.8 or 1.9, I think.

So anyway, I figured I've played enough now to share my thoughts from my somewhat unique perspective:
It's been an experience. As essentially a new player all over again, I have to say, the game feels very different to how I remember it. Not necessarily all bad, but it really reminds me of playing mod packs years ago, with how cluttered they would get shoehorning in biomes and plant/mob types and structures all over the place. There's so much random shit everywhere and the colors are all different.

When did they add leaf litter on the ground everywhere? It's nearly as annoying as those damn flying stingrays and those pissy Don't Starve pigmen in the Nether that are always agro. Reminds me of those mods that added stone buttons everywhere as "rocks".

Glass looks better than I remember it looking, so that's nice. Fishing is still a waste of string, and the loot in dungeons and mineshafts is as shit as I remember.

Aside from the glass, I can't say anything seems much improved to me. There's a crafting book, which I've seen in letsplays before but I have no idea how it works. It seems to forget recipes I've learned, so it clearly doesn't work the way I assumed it did. Leashes are maybe improved, they seem to hold together better than I remember. But moving animals and villagers around is still annoying as fuck.

And villagers are both broken as ever but also seem generally more cheaty, especially for gear. I don't really see any point in digging for diamonds, I've been playing for at least 2 weeks and the only diamonds I've used were for a single enchanting table. And enchanting is exactly as shit a mechanic as it used to be. I'm almost okay with that, lol, at least lapis is fucking everywhere now.

Villagers have these speciality blocks now, and I don't see the point of them. The smelter doesn't do anything worth the effort of building it, for some reason I thought it multiplied ore. The arrow table does nothing. I figured the enchanting table would give a new wizard villager type, but sadly no.

My old Iron farm doesn't work, and there doesn't seem to be much iron to mine either. I'm guessing some village rules were changed again. I managed to build something following a tutorial, but it seems very beginner scale, yet all the tutorials I saw for bigger Iron farms are just the same beginner farm multiplied. I liked the overly complicated old farm with a thousand doors, this new meta seems boring.

And I'd swear the terrain generation has been changed, because I can't find a floating island anywhere and there's this weird cheese-filled cave next to my spawn that is absolutely gigantic, feels almost like Nether generation. The deep caves are sort of annoyingly big and too many.

So far none of my old redstone knowledge seems broken, my ancient sorting system seems to work, and I finally figured out how to get a crafter to work. I do not understand these Observer blocks. My Etho mob farm works, but my water elevator for the mobs did not work. I've seen enough Hermit vids to know to make a bubble column thing, but I'm not sure why my old design doesn't work.

Let's see, what else... oh, found a weird biome I don't recall seeing in any videos, fucking annoying jungle version of a swamp I guess. My F3 screen doesn't seem to show biomes or block ids anymore, and I've not bothered to search around to see how to fix it. So I'm calling the biome "Swamp Jungle" until I know better. Weird wood, I haven't used any yet, but probably looks like ass just like Jungle wood does.

There are these weird looking chickens and weird looking everything else. And fucking cats everywhere now. I guess they added biome-specific livestock variants at some point?

My biggest problem right now is Slime. I have a beacon, which was much easier to get than I remember it being, and I've dug out a huge fucking hole but not one Slime has spawned yet. I found one in that shithold Swamp Jungle, but they had better still spawn underground or I'm going to be fucking burning those swamp trees.

I did find a dead ghast thing by an altar made of bone blocks in the Nether. I'm 99% certain this is that rideable ghast I see in videos but I haven't figured out how it works.

There's a ton of new blocks, most of which I will never use I'm sure. Some are pretty ugly, like these cheese blocks (I legit can't remember the name and I'm too lazy to load up the world to check. Sulfur maybe. One was red mercury, I remember).

One thing I've noticed is that it seems like these new biomes are very tiny, like too tiny to be worth trying to build in. The cherry forest I found was 10 trees, the black and white halloween forest was just the top of a hill and fucking far away with one of those ugly ass Mansion buildings next to it. I like the look of the autumn forest, but it's way too small to build in. That should be a big biome, seems like the appeal is the grass and water color but I've found 3 of them so far and none are big enough to fit anything larger than tiny cabin at most.

Of course that shitty Swamp Jungle biome is fucking huge.

Anyway, I think I've seen most of the new shit and I'm getting bored so I might just start Mass Effect or something instead. I never got around to playing that and it's been sitting on my Steam account for years.

Was looking for some shooting star mods or just general star related mods, found a mod similar to that orbital cannon mod that looks incredible (though gives me a headache). Like the mod it was inspired by, it's more of an over-the-top creative mode mod that you have fun with on a world you don't care much about rather than for serious gameplay.
Switched the video because the one I posted, the guy's PC was lagging and he had Distant Horizons which made it look worse.

If you’re an oldfag with Minecraft like me, it’s probably best to accept that the game is never going to reach the quality it was before and Mojang is just going to keep adding pointless ugly SNCA like the Sift and the happy ghast until the company collapses. Just know that they’re never going to magically release an update with features that are actually worth the time they took to add in. There’s a comfort in knowing that every new update announced at this point is going to be fucking retarded. I’ve come to look forward to it.

While there are a handful of faggots in this thread sucking off Mojang like it’s a job, they do have a point in that Minecraft is so customizable, you can mostly just pretend the game doesn’t get updates anymore and pick a version you like to mod to fit your exact, autistic specifications, which is leagues above most other games which receive regular updates. I managed to revive my passion for the game by making a creative-exclusive modpack on 1.20.1 where I disable all the new features I think are retarded (most of them) and where progression/“bloat” doesn’t matter, as it’s creative mode. This has made the game infinitely more enjoyable for me and if you’re having trouble getting back into Minecraft I would recommend that you do something similar.

I have accepted that a long time ago, there’s a reason I have my server set at 1.6.2. It’s just that older updates enjoy breaking shit for no reason, like updating the skin servers to use a different domain or old server jars just.. not working.

Minecraft is dead as we know it, and Mojang can ACK for all I care since the Legacy source dropped and now people are making shit like this with AI.
So who cares if Mojank adds 7 zillion tranny fag colors to the game, literally anyone can make their own personalized minecraft at the click of a button now. (Well they always could, but you know what I mean they can personalize it further).

Aether Team apparently removed Notch's name from the "Hammer of Notch". It's amazing how saying things like "it's okay to be white" and "trannies are misgendering themselves" is enough to get a bunch of crazies to exclude you from your own game and community.

It's genuinely disgusting, the extent these faggots will go to rewrite history. Notch got damnatio memoriae'd from his own game, and the only remaining mention of his involvement is the one Microsoft is legally obliged to keep in the credits. It used to be at the very top, but they've since moved it deep down into the list so that most people won't see it.

But then there's the whole trend of shunning Notch's work, from calling the original textures "Programmer's Art", as to insinuate it wasn't "true" art just because Notch wasn't a professional artist, even though a lot of thought and effort went into making those textures, or insinuating that he was a talentless amateur, even though he was already an established game developer before "cave game tech test" appeared, with works such as Wurm Online.

They want everyone to believe that he was nothing, even though without him they would have nothing.

Notch barely gets credit for his game because he said basic facts that made fringe freaks squirm.

Well, you see, BIGOT, if it's Minecraft, it's called "protectionism" and when it's Night in the Woods, it's called "erasure of history". Learn your terms, RACIST.

I’ve come to look forward to it.
Same. At this point it's basically saying that you have faith in Microsaar and Jebediah.

Personally, I just play a modded old version with my more based friends (whenever they're feeling up to it) and occasionally a modern server with my more-Normie friends.
