You're such a retarded nigger it's unreal. This claim has been made every couple of months, if not weeks, by claude execs. If it really were true, where are all of these "one man" companies? Where are all of the innovations?
have you not checked twitter this week? dozens of people making their own "minecraft running in dark souls" (dark souls being one of the worst engines to ever mod it's unreal) or "minecraft natively in skyrim" and many others
They made in a few days what would've taken over a year.

FUCK, look at NULL, who's doing the work of a 50-person company (on the optimistic end) all by himself. Granted he already was doing that before but he wasn't coding anywhere near as much, he was mainly doing a mix of networking and management.

And it's pobably TMI but i literally know two people personally who started their own company thanks to ai, able to hand-wave functionally all of the red tape that prevented them from taking the first step or not burn out, one of them went from being unemployed for an entire year to making more money than both his parents at their peak combined thanks to that.

It's happening, you're probably fucking butthurt people are making it while you haven't left your bed yet. wake up.

it's java, if you're getting segmentation faults you're either terry davis or someone so retarded they broke the fabric of reality.

Listen to null, all you really need to do anymore is check the code it shits out if it's something important, other than that it's your duty to catch the AI whenever it's not taking opportunities to optimize the code. That's why normal programmers and senior programmers are safe, while they aren't strictly vital, they're the difference between the program being functional and the program being fast. They're also the difference between a 2-year project being done in 5 months by an intern, or 3 weeks by someone who knows what they're doing.

How it feels to just play Creative mode so you don't have to care about progression bullshit.

That's why I'm saying to change it form a hunger mechanic into a FOOD mechanic like Terraria, where eating food gives you buffs but not eating food isn't punished.
imo it takes away from the very early game, where if you just hole up to avoid mobs and don't have enough for a farm you'll be starving especially if the entrance's shaded so they don't just burn up in the day.
I remember it being very effective for new players, getting overwhelmed by the possibilities only to be reeled in and slowly starved until you're 1-hit from death, it's a pretty fast change of situation that forces newbies into action

It's a pretty good ticking clock driver

The way Vintage Story does it, is by implementing starvation and buffs simultaneously. If you don't eat, you starve. If you don't eat different foods, you don't get much out of it.
Also, the problem you described is solved by spawning in with half a bar of hunger.

>DUUUUUDE have you checked what some dumb nigger did on eks, the everything app????!!!!
>DUUUUUUUDE he literally put niggerslop #14 into niggerslop #88!!!!
It's all derivative of other projects. There are no actually new things being created.

Expert Mode and up halves your regen after all other calculations if you don't have Well Fed/one of its modern descendants active.
Yeah sure >but that's not "normal" mode! but let's be real and call "Expert" 'Normal' because even Red couldn't stomach the name any longer and renamed it Classic due to all the random shit Expert gates and toggles.

Then why are you here?

Dude they're talking about people wanting to remove it because it's a chore
where in the hell does that help anything to do that

Everything is derivative to a degree, that doesn't mean that suddently you can't start and finish something alone that'd normally require a team.

>hurr durr you can't lift a heavy rock with that exoskeleton
>lifts a 700lb rock with it
>durr that's lightweight buddy who cares it's a chalk rock too bro you're not accomplishing anything next time try a real rock like the one that killed the dinosaurs

Overclocking
Has been a joke for a long while
For just about everything across the board. It was great a decade/decade and a half ago when CPU's weren't too hot so OC'ing them made a huge difference. Nowadays with all the sub-10nm process nodes, you get so much performance from a stock chip that it doesn't really matter. The minmaxing of single core performance can now only really be realized by buying higher end CPU's, and let's be honest, the only reason you'd be doing it is because whatever it is that you're running should be multithreading but isn't.

Minecraft is one of those things. A game with proper multithreading won't suffer on a midrange CPU from this decade. For example my i5-12400. 6 cores, 12 threads. Games that make good use out of multithreading don't really struggle and, for example with CDPR's games, they're making as much out of my hardware as they can. Every thread gets used, GPU sits at nearly 100%, all to deliver as many frames as possible, and it can get a solid result as long as I don't use ray tracing. Meanwhile the original Crysis can run worse on the same hardware just because it can't multithread.

In short: we've reached a point with computer hardware where multithreading is king, and any software written to multithread as well as it can will do more to performance than any hardware upgrade. Minecraft needs solid multithreading, on both the client and server side.

In case of Minecraft, if you get a well multithreaded server program, it could make sense to host your singleplayer worlds on a separate machine. Singleplayer has been dead for a long time, and by playing singleplayer you're just running a local server, so now the server is sharing the same resource pool as the client that also needs a lot of CPU cycles for rendering the game and communicating with the local server. If you're really hardware constrained, you could probably get plenty of extra FPS by doing it that way. Though this is probably beneficial for people with really weak rigs, otherwise the improvements would be neglibile.

In between doing schoolwork I'll just play for a little bit before getting back to the schoolwork. You know how it is, after so much time reading textbooks you need a little break. My current project is redoing an area of the world I used to have a little town is, but I want it different now so I moved the cathedral elsewhere and am making a plaza type area around it slowly but surely.

I roughed out an area and slowly added paths and flowers and hedges and such, it's a good way to reset the brain before going back to studying.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=LIMyJz8HplQgood news, we can finally be bees run shaders on pretty much any computer, from shitbox to nasa tier...
shaderslop is now avaliable to you.
If you want more Minecraft performance optimizations, mostly Java version information and Java flags, this GitHub is very useful.

There was an older GitHub that I think this one is based on, but I'm pretty sure it got deleted or I just lost it.

I know this is not too related to your post (which I found interesting) but lol at how divisive pro AI posts are.

Not deleted (well last I checked), just archived and this is the new one.
Oh man I loved using that back in the day. I believe Amulet is what people are using more these days but I don't mess with that stuff anymore.

My only complaint is that if you're still playing 1.12.2 modpacks, you're stuck with Optifine. There's work to bring over Sodium/Iris rendering via a Celeritas fork for CleanroomMC, but as of now the shader part of the porting is yet to be finished, so if you want fancy shaders, you need to use Optifine, and that can cause novel problems. If it's not that the shaders are slow, they cause odd visual breakage depending on the modpack.

Now that I think about it, minecraft updates should've been JSID after 1.8. Everyone on Earth gets into constant shitflinging over whether they prefer the 'craft as it is or for what it used to be, but most people constantly argue over what they minecraft should become, and that thing is just some form of 3D terraria or vintage story. Instead, Mojang should've just made "Minecraft 2" and put in all the modern stuff with different progression, or even "Minecraft 3" later on. Minecraft would be left behind as 1.8 and we wouldn't be treating a 3D Dwarf Fortress clone as if it was meant to be an epic live service meant to be constantly changing

AI's got a lot of problems but hating on AI has become so homosexually pozzed that it's not even worth.
I guess my main complaint's that a bunch of retards are making dogshit AI tools, especially that one vtuber i forgot the name of, going "omg scamming Live2D artists on life suport rn lmaooooo" and then show you something that's repulsive, has very little utility and looks straight out of a mobile scam ad
Proper use of AI is an incredible boon for programmers, hell, even linus torvalds ended up using it himself because it's enticing as fuck to have something produce all the infrastructure and basic program, even if it's buggy or inefficient and decided to correct that by hand instead of making the AI fix that, the time you save is more than worth it.

The real conversation atm is wether claude and similar-sized models speed up your productivity by 3x or 15x in the end. It's still an incredible productivity tool. It's like the invention of the IDE compared to writing your code in windows' notepad.
