One does also have to remember that the primary reason why governments might not want to buy it is that they inevitably would have to deal with ITAR and all the strings that come with buying expensive American stuff. It's one of the big reasons why companies like Dassault have an easier time making sales because the French have less strings attached to it.
Well and not only ITAR but our government is also hilariously politically unstable as far as foreign policy is concerned, so you might make a deal and have a contract and then six months later someone else is in charge and just goes "Nah, you aren't getting those jets because I, personally, do not like you." and there's nothing that foreign country can really do about it except to kick rocks.

They might have been screwed out of the F35, but they are keeping the F15 and F16 development going. I think the Motorola F16 also contributes to our programs.
If you want a better plane, I think it is kind of a given that you pay for the development of said features, when everyone has already moved on to the F-35

The production line for YFQ-44A at Anduril's Arsenal-1 factory in Ohio is now opened and producing an unspecified number of additional prototypes for the Air Force's A2A drone program. Anduril claims the line's max production is ~150 drones a year, with planning for additional buildings if they win the contract over General Atomics or any possible walk-on offerings. Arsenal-1 also currently produces their Barracuda missiles and Roadrunner drones.
