the mosin has been in service for longer and will remain in militia/police service for very likely just as long as the m2 will remain in someones inventory atleast 100 years from now, so, according to the logic here the mosin is the best rifle in the world x3
The Mosin has been replaced multiple times with superior alternatives.

are you unable to understand sarcasm/mockery? read through the past couple pages and replace talk of the M2 with the mosin and it reads the same way, both are obsolete, inefficent but lovable designs that will still be used long after we are dead, its amusing x3

also it is still in service with militias and police around the world still, so it counts

I thought y'all would like this, as of last week the 1,100th F-35 has been delivered.

That's more than the Typhoon, Rafael and Gripen E combined.

Lockheed delivered 110 jets in 2024. More jets in a year than France can make in 5 years.

I remember way back when when tards were bleating about a "death spiral" for the jet..... Now it's not only the most common stealth jet on Earth it's actually one of the most produced fighter jets on Earth and certainly the most produced fighter jet so far in the 21st century.

The jet backed by the most aggressive salesmen of the world and the largest military budget in the world sells a lot. News at 11.

Still, I'm not surprised the Typhoon and Rafale didn't sell well because they came to the market at the exact wrong time when the main focus of western militaries went to COIN and severe budget cuts as a result of the post cold war drawdown of expensive militaries. Gripen's problem in turn is that the Swedes just are shit at selling it.

I'm his defense I didn't get the sarcasm either, but I am also sitting in my kitchen reading this thread waiting for my coffee to be made.

But yeah, that's a great point.

Neither will be truly replaced for the exact same reasons, too

The F-35 is the new F-4 Phantom, change my mind. Massively produced, used by everyone, and comes in a boatload of variants. Also the F-35A is nuclear capable, just like the F-4. I get to see them fly since I'm in Utah, let me tell you, those things are loud monsters that will kill your ass.

I expect to see Moist Nuggets in pawn shop gun racks when I have grandkids, and M2's to still be spitting lead in active combat zones.

The preliminary designs for DDG(X) are absolutely monstrous. 13,500 tons. All the weapons shown above, including larger VLS cells for hypersonics. The thing is a cruiser.

It's also been interesting keeping up with it in the news. There are rumors they want multiple variants, like one with a hull extension so they can fit more VLS, or deleting the 5 inch gun. It's all fascinating to me, since these will be the true successors to the Ticonderogas.

Highly recommend visiting the USS New Jersey if you guys ever get a chance. Walking on a WW2 battleship with tomahawk launchers and CIWS is a trip. And allegedly it almost certainly carried nuclear armaments. Getting to see all the analog control consoles is awesome too. They have a good YouTube channel as well.

The M2 machine gun continues to serve a relevant role on the battlefield over a century later. It can be used against lightly-armored vehicles, aircraft, boats, infantry, etc. The Mosin might still be effective as a sniper rifle, but there are better alternatives for that role. The era of the bolt-action service rifle is over and has been for a very long time.

Yeah this is going to be an absolute shit show. LCS was a goat fuck, the new frigate is a goat fuck. No way this isnt also a goat fuck.

Fucking a. I went to the Iowa musuem in Long Beach and its something. Sitting up top looking over the bow with those 6 16 inch guns. Cant imagine what it had to have been like sitting there watching those guns firing round after round.

The LCS was 2 designs that didn't know what it wanted to be and the Constellation class has production delays. The frigate isn't a failure yet. Off schedule, but not a lost cause.

Its way behind schedule because the Navy has significantly redesigned it after it was approved. Its a complete cluster fuck.

Yes I've seen that I know.
Yep the USN is being absolutely retarded yet again
The problem is we don't actually know if the ship is good or not. Could work great. Could just be a total waste. I call it mismanaged and off schedule. It technically hasn't failed because it hasn't gotten that far yet

LCS was an absolute failure
Zumwalt was an absolute failure

Something tells me the next surface combatant thats already way behind schedule and over budget exactly like the above where during development isnt going to buck the trend of being a failure.

The Zumwalt was a evolutionary step that's getting redeemed with hypersonic tubes my guy.

I have nothing pertinent too add.
