I likely have said it before here, but the best thing they could get out of the Booker is offering it as a lighter tank for export customers. That way, some money can be gotten back from places where an Abrams is too heavy.
And even then it'll probably lose out to things like the CV90 and Centauro since most militaries that aren't the USA just plain don't have the manpower for a four man crew nor the money for tracked vehicles.

It doesn't help the case that the Booker 'light tank' was about 40 tons anyways. That's lighter than most MBTs, certainly lighter than Abrams, but not so light that it wouldn't still provide a lot of logistical headache compared to a Centauro or something similar. Even CV90120 can be dressed down to 30ish tons.

Bro they've already chopped down the already short 13 inch barrel on that thing to lighten it. What a fucking mess
The M7A1 has a 10.5 inch barrel, a fixed stock (wtf) and a sheet metal heat shield around the suppressor and lightening cuts in the receiver to shave ounces.

Imagine having a buffer less operating system and have a stock that can't fold.

The Army hasn't even said they'll buy it either, Siggers are coping and that abomination needs to be cancelled, along with the stupid cartridge.

The LMG needs a QCB added and be rechambered to 7.62 NATO

Bro. Just issue everyone M14's, this is so fucking gay. 10.5 inch barrel. Lol. Or better, just keep the current loadout that's been tested for decades

Or... You know.... AR-10s for DMRs (maybe even in 6.5 CM) and give everyone else URGI uppers and optics on their M4A1s for less than the entire M7 program.

Then if you want look for a better AR/LMG round and a better GPMG/DMR round and when you find those, THEN go for the new rifles and machine guns....

Yes, issue everyone M110 howitzers.

But see, that would make sense and not give money to Sig, and we can't have that bro

I would absolutely love never again have to hear some decrepit "Vietnam era Serviceman!" ballwash the M14, while revealing with the tiniest bit of pressure that he was never in Vietnam at all or was some rear echelon motherfucker who never actually had to shoot that M14 beyond plinking on the range.

Every one of them who says "Vietnam era", without fail, was never in the jungle shooting it out with Charlie. Every single actual Vietnam War veteran who did, that I've spoken with, without exception, absolutely positively HATES the M14.

Bring back the M16A2 and the ALICE rigs. The most badass look our troops ever had was from '83 to '05, if you ask me.

Yes

The M14 is a great pattern for civilian rifles and would've made an excellent battle rifle if it had competed with the SVT-40.
Mind you, the SVT-40 already had dealt with such a competitor with the AVS-36. In a funny way, they were the first ones to learn that perhaps having a full-auto rifle firing a full-sized cartridge isn't actually that useful. They still ended up making the AVT-40 which is just an SVT-40 but with a selector switch.

The SVT-40 also has some serious jamming issues due to the potential for rimlock, later designs like the SVD and PSL solve this problem but the magazine design for the SVT doesn't.
