Let's talk and the F3H Demon

View attachment 6553365

The American MiG17 looked cooler and was, theoretically atleast,a better interceptor, but was ultimately way too terrible to be acceptable for naval aviation. The Navy liked the concept but the idea behind a subsonic carrier interceptor that can't loiter for now than 15 minutes didn't make sense. Not to mention they were harder to land than a sober 9 with citizenship in Miami. View attachment 6553377The entire concept around the Demon was it could carry sparrows and the radar could, theoretically again, follow the beam from US Navy ship to pick up targets, a trick we wouldn't actually develop until the F14 twenty years later.

The plane would only spend 7 years on carriers before getting displaced by the F4, which she shares a string family resemblance with. By making the intakes larger, switching to a Delta wing and twin engines, the evolution to the Phantom is one you can eyeball pretty easily.

Its sexy

Drone is cheaper than Fagot, Javelin or any other kind of wire or fire and forget missile, esp. one with tandem charges.
Lol keep being a fucking retard.

An AT-5 class ATGM system is stupid fucking cheap and a fuck load cheaper than a drone toting multiple AR rockets or missiles. Plus being smaller, lighter and more portable. A Javelin/SPIKE/Almas or similar class ATGM system is more portable and lighter than your magical RPG drone. Maybe look at the real world in Ukraine over the last 2.5 years and notice that re-usable combat drones either drop small grenades or go up a few weight classes to a Orion/Byraktar 2 level with essentially nothing in between.

A tandem charge adds almost nothing to the cost of a warhead.....

Laser guided shells are simply not needed, regular HE does the job better and provides more bang per buck. Cheap is the name of game with arty and at regular ranges and skilled crew, you don't need guidance.
I was talking about first shot accuracy but reading comprehension isn't your strong suit. I guess all you really read is children's version of "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion" anyway, makes sense.

Your other babblings about drones and artillery is Reddit tier idiocy and doesn't warrant a response.

I'll leave your dumbass with these

Pretty much every jet made between the end of Korea and through the 70s was gorgeous or exceedingly utilitarian with nothing in between

Hawker Hunter 🤗

Javelin is 200k with 90k missile
Spike is 250k
Rpg is 0,35k
Either you work for raytheon or you lack basic math skills.
Drones are reusable and Ukrainians went a step further and used rpg warhead as a body for a drone. Cost under 1k
I'm not even gonna bother with your other ramblings

What part of "you suck dick at reading comprehension" did you not understand?

Nowhere did I say there were fucking cheaper than a one shot suicide drone dumbass.

That site you linked jerks off Ukraine more than a redditor and was seemingly written by one too.....

Possibly you to be honest.

Go back to reddit dumbass.

It can keep shelling for hours with HE, including precision munitions like EXCALIBUR, anti armor like BONUS, and regular HE. All while sitting 30 km away from the action. It shoots off some rounds, then scoots away, rinse, repeat
You dont need to shell a position for hours if you can actually hit what you are wanting to shell in a few hits.

Your goal shouldnt be to lob ordnance because you can. It should be to lob ordnance with the objective of actually hitting something. Tube artillery needs that sustained volume of fire specifically because of how few rounds actually land for effect.

This is isn't ww1 anymore this is modern war and the first round is far far  far more accurate then it used to be, I will break out the field manuals if you want the source.
How many 155mm rounds has Ukraine fired from western guns again?

That depends on what you're doing. If you're denying a area to the enemy, you do need to shell a area for hours. If you need to hit a point target, I present to you Excalibur:

The best part of a gun is that you can load multiple types of ammo. Including first hit GPS guided shells.

Washington announced this week that it would suspend the delivery of M982 Excalibur shells, due to their poor resistance to Russian GPS jamming.

From wiki: The Excalibur has been shown to be vulnerable to GPS jamming. When shells were first supplied to Ukraine during the Russian invasion of Ukraine, they initially hit targets with a 70% efficiency rate. However, within six weeks the Russians had adapted their electronic warfare systems and reduced its efficiency to only 6%.

Regular arty rules the battlefield. Excalibur is just a meme shell at this point.

Nigger you have failed to make any substantive points or addressed any points brought up in this discussion go be a retard somewhere else.
Heed your own advice.

Area denial and suppression are both very important, the latter especially so given how Ukraine is being fought.

Hundreds of thousands of shells at the minimum.

The issue is that Russia has fired more and has been firing more shells in almost every engagement since Feb 2022.

In jam heavy environments you can switch to laser guided shells marked by a small Orlan-10 class recon drone or similar.

We haven't even touched mortars yet.

All this drone talk, I have a feeling they won't be that effective in the future.
Right now most people are appalled by the constant war crimes videos with drones, but give the US or some other non-slavic stuck in the 80s country a year with drone warfare and there will be multiple countermeasures relegating this personal drone style warfare obsolete.
Last I checked the US isn't even investigating this style drone warfare. Honestly the answer is probably going to be counter battery detecting where the drone control is originating from and introducing that area to himars.

People also forget that if we were putting little GoPros on the noses of artillery and mortar shells and artillery rockets we'd be seeing.... The EXACT same thing, just sped up.

Blanket jamming across the spectrum beats small drones. Russia isn't doing it because they lack an organic component to accomplish the task, we can do it with an EC130, RC135, EA18G, and a bunch of other wild options. Iran even did it to crash a few high end USAF drones a decade ago

Sure if you think drones will only be as sophisticated as commercial off the shelf ones from China.
