Wow! $15,000!
Can that hire even one hooker to star in their tasteless ads?

(Oh I read the article: it was not even $15,000 money, but $15,000 in "meatless patties". They can shove that up Black Science Man's ass. It is also Hamburg, NY rather than Hamburg, Germany but that's beside the point.)
Oh are they using the cow farts are going to kill us all argument again? Because other ruminants like the buffalo don't do the same thing? That methane only has a 7 year half-life that stabilizes over time?

It's an argument to torch venting gas wells for safety and environment. Not an argument against steak.

If cows ran on coal, I would say they have a point. But the methane emissions from livestock argument is stupid and dumb. It's active carbon. They are playing with house money.

It's almost as dumb as their water argument. But not much.

They tried to do the same for Fishkill, New York. They tried to get them to change their name to 'Fishhug' or 'Fishlove'. 'Fishkill' is just Dutch for 'Fish Creek'.

Or how they wanted to rename "fish" as "sea kittens" even going as far as to offer money to Pescadero State Beach to change their name to "Sea Kitten Beach".

I don't know about you but the last thing I think about when I see a fish is a fluffy kitten.

So uh what do vegans plan on doing with the millions of cows we have? We also have more chickens than people on earth right now. We cant just release billions of chickens into the wild, even if that does sound somewhat hilarious in a way.

Knowing groups like PETA they will just have them all killed becausr "its a better alternative than being grown for consumption" or some stupid shit.

Considering that they actually kill pets that people leave with them because they can't take care of them anymore. Seriously, these folk bring their pets to PETA because they think they'll be well taken care of and if they brought them to a pound or something the pets would wind up dead and they still love Mr. Fluffikins but just can't take care of him anymore.

PETA says thank you and a couple days later the pet's dead and sitting in a freezer until they can dispose of the corpse.

South Americans are just getting fat because that's what usually happens when people get enough money to buy more food than they need. Pretty much every country in Europe and North America has too many obese people in it. An obesity crisis is literally the opposite of world hunger. I'm not sure what you're getting at here.

For example, Brazil is 22.1% obese. The UK is 27.8%, Australia 29%, and the US 36.2%. South America isn't especially fat.
We're talking Bolivia and Peru where it's actually grown, not Brazil.

The farmers who grow the crop are getting more money for it and it's value has tripled since 2011 and that's just the regular stuff. If they grow colored or "royal" quinoa they get even more. So yes, the farmers have more money and they're spending it on food they normally didn't have before. Whereas before they'd hold onto part of the harvest for themselves now they have the money to buy other foods. That's not the people I'm talking about. They are choosing to forgo their traditional food in favor of getting more money.

The poor folk in places like La Paz or Lima and regular folk are feeling the pinch because it's selling for such high a price that it's being classified as a luxury product. For example years ago in Lima, before this revolution, quinoa would sell for 2-3 soles per kilo. That was around $0.61 - $0.91 per kilo. One kilo of course being roughly 2 1/2 pounds. Now it's selling for 10 soles or $3.06. Compare that to a chicken being sold for 7 soles or $2.14. Quinoa is more expensive than chicken. So what could feed your family with maybe a little bit of meat to round it out is no longer available. As such they need to move onto other sources and what's cheap? Pasta, rice and potatoes which are all starchy foods which make you fat.

It's not that that they're eating more rice, pasta and potatoes. It's that they have no choice because they can't afford what they used to be able to afford. The average monthly salary in Peru is $590. This is considered one of the lowest in the world. This is what the West's desire for quinoa has wrought. It's simple economics. When something gets to be popular, the price goes up because people are willing to spend more for it.

I'm personally amazed we haven't had a legit PETA terrorist attack by now: they're completely nuts and (despite what they say) they don't care about life at all; theirs or others.
while we dont have any from peta, there are other far more extreme animal groups that were mentioned here before like ALF(animal liberation front)

Doesn't PETA fund ALF?

Yes, and Earth First.

Actually, PETA are worthy of a thread all their own what with sea kittens, models in meat trays, the chimp out when someone registered peta.org as "people eating tasty animals" and so forth.

Peru isn't anywhere near the poorest country in the world. In Somalia and Burundi, that's about the per capita GDP for a year. Unsurprisingly, there isn't much of an obesity crisis there. If people just ate less of the more energy dense foods, they wouldn't be fat. Obviously they'd have to adjust their diets to the new staples, but a more energy-dense staple needs to be served in smaller quantities. Obesity is a simple equation of eating more energy in food than you use. Unfortunately, lots of people around the world struggle with this.

You can't say that people have no choice to be fat because they have potatoes and rice instead of quinoa. In many parts of the world, those have been the staples for centuries.

I don't know what's going on but either you're deliberately misinterpreting what I'm saying or you're doing it on purpose.

Peru isn't anywhere near the poorest country in the world
Do me a favor and find where I said that because I never did. My words were, "This is considered one of the lowest in the world". Key words there "one of". That is not an absolute statement so don't make it one. And "average" salary takes into account the richest people as well as the poorest. Besides Somalia technically doesn't have a government unless you happen to live in Mogadishu.

45% of the country live in what can be called "extreme poverty" which means they live on less than $1.00 a day. They don't make $590 a month. That is an average taking everybody into account. They might make that in a year. Before they'd be able to afford quinoa because it was cheap. Now they can't. What part of this do you not understand? So to actually feed their families they need to turn to high starch foods. Eat too many starches and you get fat. Again, what part of this doesn't make sense to you?

It's like here. You see people on food stamps and what are they buying? The really cheap stuff because it's cheap. Lots of pasta. Lots of sugary sodas. Lots of things that are packed with fat and ingredients that you can't even pronounce. Not a lot of fresh fruit or veg because that's expensive. And more often than not, they're fat.

Obesity isn't just about eating more. It's about eating the wrong things. Now we're getting really far off the point here. This is supposed to be about stupid vegans and not the health situation of poor folk in Peru. You want to counter these points go right ahead but I'm done with this because this is way off topic.

So apparently Blaire White posted a video about how she's decided to stop being vegan due to health concerns like having terrible stomach cramps, transparent skin, and being literally too weak to get out of bed.

Vegans in the comments reacted about as well as you'd expect.

Not the first ex vegan to provoke reeeeing by their very existence, I'm sure.

No surprise there. Veganism in this country is a cult. You don't stop being a vegan and if you do you're worse than Hitler to these folk. They ignore the fact that we are omnivores and we are designed to eat meat. If we couldn't it would either make us sick or we'd have terrible digestive issues.

So if Blaire wants to eat some salmon or a burger from time to time it's her business and not anybody else's.

I had no idea she was vegan -- apparently these idiots need to learn you can indeed be a vegan and keep your piehole shut at the same time.

No they can't. Being a vegan in this country means you need to tell people all the time and continually harass others about their poor food choices.

I caught the tail end of this damage control livestream Blaire did a few days ago. The guy she was speaking to repeatedly used the analogy of "well you agree killing a person and eating them is wrong, so why do it to an animal?" in total seriousness.

What vegans don't seem to understand that unless one is 100% self-sustainable, we all consume products that in one way or another have harmed people/animals/plants/the environment. Veganism is the easiest bandwagon to jump on to make them feel righteous. Yet I can bet you most of them buy clothes made in sweatshops.

This is the part of veganism that always kills me because there are loads of mice, birds and other small critters that are killed every year during harvest time. When these big machines run through the fields countless small animals die. Tell that to a vegan and they'll either deny it to try to keep their moral high ground or see them crumble inside knowing that they still contributed to the death of animals just so they could have steamed broccoli.

they'll just ignore it and change the subject, just like when you bring up halal meat.

Or they'll say it's nothing in comparison to the holocaust that goes on every single day in slaughterhouses all over the world.

And halal isn't special. It just means a Muslim has to kill the animal, say a prayer, make sure it's facing Mecca and then cut it's throat. That's it. You're still killing the animal but instead of the Western method of crushing the brain first before cutting the throat, they just cut the throat.
