Private Villa of Corrupted Crops is pretty shit tbh. But some of these nuts (like Greenpeace) even oppose absolutely positive GMOs for the flimsiest of pretexts and dumbass slogans like "frankenfood." One example would be golden rice. It's just rice that also produces Vitamin A. Not having Vitamin A kills 1-2 million people EVERY YEAR. You could send in doctors and nutritional supplements and shit like that, but in many of these places, they already grow rice.

Greenpeace has some pretty theoretical PETA-tier bullshit about how corporations could manipulate this for their own benefit, some of which is probably true, but we're talking about a fucking Holocaust every six years that a single GMO could stop in its tracks. Never mind the millions of other people who end up flat out blind or with permanent vision impairments. Not to be too harshly utilitarian, but permanently blind or nearly blind people cost more than dead people.
I'm not going to argue that Monsanto, love the word filter by the way, has some shady business practices but they themselves are not evil. They're a big corporation. They're all about the bottom line so they're going to protect their intellectual property.

Same with Greenpeace. I'm all for an environmentally aware group that is trying to protect the planet but when it actually comes at a cost to real human lives, they've totally lost any support I might have given them.

But this is why you can't argue with fanatics. Any fanatic regardless of which side of the political or social divide you're on. I know vegans and I mean strict vegans. They're normal people except they don't partake of the flesh or anything from an animal but they don't get in my face about it. It's not a status thing with them. It's simply who they are. Except the kind we normally run into are judgmental cunts like this one:

She's talking about her pet chicken who's she's "adopted".

Personally next time faced with a judgemental vegan, I think we should act more like this:

Problem is, I don't think any of them will get the irony.

This Reddit thread is fucking overflowing with salty vegans if anyone wants to go digging. Basically, the UK just passed a law to make CCTV surveillance a requirement in all slaughterhouses in an effort to decrease animal abuse (which is excellent, btw; some slaughterhouse employees are bona fide psychopaths who purposefully inflict pain and suffering on helpless animals because they know they can get away with it).

This isn't good enough for Reddit vegans though. Instead of trying to relieve animal suffering and ensure that animals live a good life before being painlessly slaughtered, we should be trying to make everyone in the world a vegan.

Also, lol:

"No one is forcing you to be a farmer. You could learn an actual skill and contribute to society."

TFW the vegan is so exceptional, they do not consider farming a skill even though a FARMER grows their damn veggies for them to subsist off of!

I'm pretty sure we've established that vegans don't give a fuck about farmers or exploited labor used to pick the crops they end up eating.

Or all the cute critters threshed in farm equipment. Or the land cleared for monocrop agriculture. Or the petroleum-based fertilizer used for said agriculture. Or the fact that the way to create topsoil is with animal poop.

They just like to feel personally holy, exactly like the people in the Victorian era who pushed vegetarianism as a way to curb lust. Since veganism wrecks your sex hormones, it works great for that! Curbs lust, curbs thought processes, and enriches corporations.

And graham crackers to curb jacking it like Cyril Figgis in the elevator at the end of the Archer episode "Vision Quest."

I think my favorite bit there is the psycho vegan somehow being convinced that farmers are libertarian corporate fat cats.

Because god help me, when I think of cutthroat capitalism gone mad, I think of Cletus wading through the carrot field.

I know (and know of) several farmers who lean towards the hippie-dippy socialist side of the spectrum. I don't think they know what the commies did to the Ukraine (specifically their farmers!) in the 1930s :reality::augleft:.

Mmmm, government subsidies...
Depends on the country. Canada doesn't do the subsidy thing directly, for the most part. Instead, there was the Wheat Board (since dismantled) where every farmer had to sell his wheat to the Wheat Board, and it was illegal for a farmer to take his own damn wheat and sell it wherever he wanted. We STILL have Dairy Boards and Poultry/Egg boards. This means strict quotas on production which cost the earth to acquire for farmers, higher prices for consumers (a gallon/4L jug of milk in Canada is over 5 dollars now for the most part--if you're lucky you can get one for not quite 5 dollars), and a bureaucratic nightmare for anyone wanting to enter the industry--especially for people wanting to make cheese. Fuck it, I'd rather the government just subsidized them like everybody else does so that poor children don't suffer from having lack of affordable milk, ffs--at least then it's taxpayers' money and not hurting the ones who can least afford it with ridiculous prices. Especially since Canada does NOT have "Food stamps" or SNAP/EBT benefits or any means at all of subsidizing food purchases for the poor.

Oh my God. I somehow managed to stumble across a vegan short horror film where dairy cows are replaced with human women. I don't have anything to say about the film because I didn't watch it, but the comments are priceless.

"If you consume milk, cheese or any other dairy product (along with meat and eggs) you are unequivocally supporting slavery, rape, baby-theft and mass murder."

SociallyAwkwardVegan seems legitimately psychotic. Also lol, "Do not be surprised when you end up in jail for eating animal products."

THE CORPSE EATERS.

Also, why does every single militant vegan use Holocaust analogies? It's so tacky.

"This graphic horror film should be mandatory viewing in schools."

I, for one, advocate Jews viciously tearing them twelve new assholes every single time they want to trot out that analogy.

While you're here, @Meowthkip, do you think you can move this thread out of the Tumblr subforum and into Community Watch? It's just I've noticed that little of the content posted on here is actually from Tumblr, and I think the thread would fit in better with Community Watch.

Sure thing!

Well...my boyfriend just said: the person who made the video..is he gay? Because I dont mind eating women all night.

I’m starting to think a lot of vegans have repressed sexual issues
Clearly. There's a subset of Feminism (vegetarian/vegan) that preaches that eating meat is literally oppression, and that women who eat meat are literally oppressing themselves.

Perhaps this is better meant for Deep Thoughts, but I can't help but wonder what makes these militant vegans tick. I keep hearing "Cowspiracy", "Forks Over Knives", "From Farm to Fridge" and The China Study cited as authoritative sources all proposing veganism as panacea for all that ails us and the solution to environmental degradation/climate change. It has been known by environmentalists for years that factory farming and large scale agriculture consume tons of resources (especially water), contributing to droughts, emit a disproportionate amount of greenhouse gasses and a host of other concerns for the environment, but has any counter research been forthcoming? Are the vegans right? Are we to grovel before vegans' infinite wisdom and moral authority?

I dunno. What do you make of all this? Are we anywhere close to a final word on this controversial topic?
