Generally local dairy farms aren't run by big corperations and have good conditions for their animals, does this calf look like it's being stuffed in a stall for it's whole life? They cared enough about the individual to give it a hoodie
Which is why you should totally support local farms, even if it costs a bit more. Everyone wins; you get to eat delicious meat and dairy products while the animals themselves get to enjoy a good life that doesn't involve being forced to live in horrible conditions just to save a quick buck.
Why is it that every time I hear about vegans and animal rights activists, it always involves them being cruel & negligent to animals? Onision leaves his pet turtle in a cage to die / hits a deer with his car and only cares about how much he fucked up his car, PETA euthanizing stray animals and these faggots forcing an animal to conform to a diet of malnutrition for moral reasons, like the cat fucking cares about your ethics, moralfag.
There's an interesting level of cognitive dissonance involved, to be sure. I mean, to be fair, a lot of us bloodmouths are guilty of the same thing; for example, I absolutely
adore animals and am very passionate about animal welfare issues but I still eat meat and purposely avoid watching/reading anything about the livestock industry because it's too much for me.
As for the other examples, I think I can shed some light on the kind of mentality that's behind them. Regarding Onision, I have no idea who he is but after a little Googling it seems like he's just a huge drama whore. As for PETA, I've elaborated on their stance on euthanasia in this thread before but I'll give a recap; basically, most (if not all) of PETA's most devout members view
any kind of animal ownership as slavery, and that includes pets. They think that, instead of working to improve animal welfare, humans and animals should just live entirely separate lives. That's why they're so huge on veganism and spend so much time promoting it; if everyone goes vegan, we won't need animals anymore. Anyway, the reason why PETA's "shelters" are actually slaughterhouses is because of this back-asswards ideology. To them, finding loving homes for the animals is just thrusting them back into slavery; euthanizing the animals is the "merciful" choice because death is better than slavery. PETA also refuses to spend the
millions of dollars they receive in funding each year on their shelters because it won't actually help any animals in the long run (according to them, spending tons of money on cheap publicity stunts and celebrity endorsements is way more important than helping abandoned/abused pets).
Finally, I think
a lot all of the vegans who don't feed their dogs/cats meat are just doing it to look and feel superior. They're so vegan that even their
pets are vegan!!!
That's how devoted they are! They also seem to think that forcing their ideology and morals onto animals who aren't capable of understanding them is somehow a noble, selfless thing to do. They usually get super defensive about it, too. So basically, they just care more about looking good than they do about the animals that depend on them for survival.
