Pretty informative, posts like yours are always welcome and it's great when you can dredge up youtube stuff like in/out fursuit comparisons. This guy doesn't look at all like I expected from the story:Necroing this thread, hopefully that's ok.
So I'm a huge chris chan fan. And as i learned more about him i always thought " chirs reminds me of this guy that used to play at some game stores i frequented back in the day" low and behold i find this thread dedicated to my favorite local lolcow. The crazier part is the similarities are so serendipious it makes me wonder if those two were seperated at birth.
I first became aware of mike(mewtwostruckback) through some friends who played the pokemon tcg.
Mike played at a shop in my town called jahinnis that was known for being pretty casual. It was small, the owner was shitty but mikes reputation spread pretty fast. He was known as a massive tard even then. Somebody who would rip younger kids off and try to game the system. His preferred method was weighing(scaling) packs. Basically foil cards are usually worth more and also happen to be heavier. So weigh the packs, buy the heavy ones, profit!? Needless to say most places weren't ok with people doing this to their product. Mike instead would frequent walmarts until he got banned from them. Jahinnis was one of the few places who let him do it though, until they closed. I personally would meet Mike a year or so later.
I used to play yugioh pretty competitively and who would walk through the door of the store i frequented one day but Mike. He was every bit the loon you'd imagine. Everything he owned was covered with mewtwo crap. He was ackward, loud and obnoxious. But the worst part was his mewtwo obsession, which can be described as nothing short of sexual infatuation. Hed always make weird sexual comments to the other players that weirded out atleast a few of us.
He played yugioh pretty heavily and went to alot of the tournaments the rest of us did. Mostly as excuse to try and profit from the game by ripping little kids off. One memorable time was a bunch of guys from the shop all spent the night together before a big tournament. Mike left his laptop unsupervised so as a joke somebody filed it with mewtwoxlucario porn(mike hates lucario for taking mewtwos place in smash Bros). Mike lost his fucking mind. He started yelling and screaming, threatening to sue everyone. Saying he was going to call the police and open an investigation. Most of the group stopped talking to him after that.
He still came to the shop though. Mostly just to stalk the few girls that played there. He would stand over their games and breath super heavily, all while getting uncomfortably close and making ackward, inappropriate comments. Did i mention he had terrible body oder? Jesus did he stink. He'd try and use axe as a shower replacement but it didn't help. He was a forever alone virgin, even going on his own love quest at one point. Though his ended with him decided that hed rather be gay than a virgin so he switched teams.
He also liked to consider himself a yugioh "investor". But yugioh singles market is far too volatile for that to be a thing. So after a particularly bad investment into a pretty expensive card that ended up getting banned went awry, he packed it in. Eventually he got kicked from that store as well for God knows what and id figured id seen the last of him.
Instead i ran into a subreddit of people calling themselves advantage players. Basically people who play dave and busters professionaly. Mike is like their king. Hes bragged about making a couple thousand dollars a year by only playing dozens of hrs a week at dnb. He also has a massive ego stating that "suddenly it just clicked and i understood advantage theory". Here's some videos of him laying out his system. Also he a massive furry, because of course he is. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

He's still doing his dnb thing as far as i know. Ive still got some friends of friends that see him now and again. Most people i knew that talked to him cut ties due to his sperg outs. Im pretty sure he still lives with his elderly mom. She records some of his dnb videos. He posts on reddit pretty frequently. Mostly about tetris 99 and his cats.Pretty informative, posts like yours are always welcome and it's great when you can dredge up youtube stuff like in/out fursuit comparisons. Is he still someone you could be exposed to in your hometown potentially?
