I don't find Crater Maker hard, but I can agree they are a pain. They are much more of a threat when you don't know their abilities, though you can always guess for devour.
For Spewer, Butcher can technically be used but that's still not great.

Stacy is a complete knowledge check IMO. You can screw yourself over (like picking retaliatory attack with a melee focused team), but once you understand its not a huge deal.

Chubs and Nubs can be a pain but as far as I was aware, they are blind so they just kinda attack around. One of their retaliation isn't even that bad because its a lobbed attack I believe. Boris hasn't been too bad for me, but I'm sure that can change.

Gambit I haven't had a hard time so far, but I know its just one bad roll in a row and that will change.

Mini-bosses normally seem to bounce between laughably easy, quite annoying but not hard, or quite hard.

From what I know of people who've lost the fight, keep in mind:
  • Its a giant fire lizard. You should probably bring water.
  • Explosions deal fire damage. Pyrophina is immune to fire damage.

I would've rather had Pyrophina but I hate the Moon so much.

Even my recent run that had a cat that could one-shot anything, the moon was annoying because it dealt electric damage. Some fights my cat was just useless (though I guess same thing can happen in the Bunker).
Crater maker is only really bad if your cats end up on his sides and have to eat his acid sprays. That can make the fight really annoying. Other than that you just need to make sure he doesn't use the aoe shout or eat your cats which is pretty easy to do if you keep an eye on the turn counter.
Side note, in higher difficulties the twin modifier will make two crater makers who will acid riposte each other to death

She's still in my backyard, but her collar isn't in my inventory. The wiki says it's supposed to go back to my inventory if she dies- but she didn't just die, she got ate. I'm really worried I've softlocked the Rift until I unlock hardmode for Act 2, and just what the fuck aaaaaaahahahaha

That little shithead of a druid is just sitting there spamming his attack buff/healing spell, I'm sad I didn't get the +30 attack icons over all the leeches. Also the cleric is level 1 and her only contribution to the party is that she has Thou Shal Not Kill.

The Arthur nerf was around March 18, so that encounter probably happened right before the update dropped.
Yeah makes sense, must have been around friday or even saturday right before the update was downloaded.
I honestly fear getting him as a midboss due to how quick shit can go sideways, specially if he rolls charm and I have a fighter.

The forbidden chili pepper.

there are backups saves in the game folder go to user> appdata> glaliel games and you'll find the saves there if the collar still doesnt respawn.
Thanks, that's what I had to do...
and i beat the rift, first go
scatter shot+ archer, with mana regen if you kill? that's so broken...and the fleas i spawned took a lot out of Soahc for me, even if it took my archer in the end rip

I feel Necromancer is as inconsistent as the int classes, but once you get it running is so satisfying.

(This fucker lived his entire life in the figthing room and amazed mounstrous levels of charisma.)

Eternal health +deathshroud was a good combo to nuke the map and get 5 gorillion stats, aparently that passive also allows you to level up while dead, wish the game said that in the fucking tooltip.

Second fight with this guy, he stood no chance.

Finally got through the slump and maanged to beat both The Core and The Moon a couple times.

Gotta say, after doing a couple collarless runs to get the skills and Void Soul, Collarless really isn't that bad. The perfect Jack-of-all-Trades, fully expected them to be bait for enemies but a lot of the time they were dishing out a good portion of the damage.

View attachment 8816187can already tell this is going to be one of the best cats of all time
This little asshole wound up with Mind Meld+, Teach+ and Learn from Me and I don't think there's anything in the game that can possibly stand up to a cascade of cats that can cast a 1-mana spell that gives another cat an extra turn and +10 mana. They one-rounded chaos/soahc and the final phase had a 237 stack of leech at one point.

Collarless is just a bit more risky than other classes with their abilities, but they still have plenty good. Two of Spades or Mind stone can be amazing for a cat, brainstorm is generically good, invert can be broken in half with DNA multiplier, etc. Though I imagine acquiring the items for those all Collarless runs is gonna be a huge pain. Just one is pretty manageable though.

For me, Jester, Monk, and Tinkerer are the most annoying. Jester of course is often a complete gamble which is annoying to breed around, but at least it makes sense and can be quite fun. Monk is quite annoying to breed stat-wise IMO for a kinda generic feeling cat that loses out on a weapon/trinket, though certainly not a bad class. Tinkerer feels like you need to set up everything and then they do less than the average hunter IMO. Maybe I've just been unlucky, but it feels like you need so much to go right to have a good tinkerer and need a good source of tech to at least have a mediocre one. I guess that's the price to pay to get an ability as sick as Mech Suit.

I'm on such a good fuckign run:
I got a hunter with mark and Lighten the load+ he's got an item for shield and a chicken to eat so he can take like 5 turns in the first round and an energy drink to chug each of those rounds
I got a fighter whos just okay but still hits for 14 and usually crits
I got a butcher who has 6 bleed spikes and priority target and gurginator
Then the humble cleric who heals the butcher 4 times int he first round to give him +5 strangth picks up his meat and feeds it to my brutal boys.

I've got a collarless cat through all of act 1 and 2 - pretty fun! Just need to do full collarless cat squad runs for them too.

I also had a fifth cat join during my leech run and he made it to the end. I was able to take him in and then send him out again so he can get the level up he deserved.

Also Nail Flurry/Nail Flurry+ is fucking CRAZY. Broken as hell of you have a high Luck high Dex Thief. Fuck Venom Barrage get Nail Flurry EVERY TIME.

Haven't got Jester or Monk yet, but I think Tinkerer is my favorite along with Thief. That class can be hard to get a cohesive build, but once you do it's so fun and it's so varied. Demoman build, turret maintenence build, killer robocat build, mech suit build, and that's probably not half of it. Tech is a meme.

It's even better/worse with Monk's Flow State passive: each hit will buff Dex which in turn adds more nails to throw, and it updates in real time. Anything within Flurry range is as good as dead as long as it doesn't reflect projectiles.

The only reason Nail Flurry isnt best spell is because Fist of Fate exists.
