"I won't scatter your sorrow to the heartless sea."

To this day, 11 years after the release of this magnificent video game, I still find that far too few people know of its magnificence.

"Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" is most definitely one of my favorite video games of all time. It's that good. The game play, the graphics, the visuals and the story are all absolutely top notch.
The parts of the game that are lacking are evident though, and it's clear that it was somewhat rushed to release, but despite that it's such a fantastic experience for any gamer.

If only Konami and Hideo Kojima weren't at odds with each other, we might perhaps have gotten a final and truly finished product. We still got a product that's 95+ % finished, and that's certainly good enough, but man would I have loved to experience the final 5%.

Fucking tourist niggers always show up with their basic bitch tastes every few months.

Give me top hats, its the only way I can interact with stickers while Josh is de-niggering the site.

I personally thought it looked like shit and was pointless. Someone else may have a countervailing opinion.
I played it.
I enjoyed it, but I am also a die hard mgs3 fanboy.
It has faults, but it is a solid game.
I still love David hayter voice acting as Naked Snake in it ( I consider it to be his best work) and I still get teary at the end.
The MP was boring.
Tried a few hours but gave up.

It had a lot of qualify of life improvements and I'd be more loving to it if they hadn't tried to reinvent the wheel and fuck with all their faces for the worse. I still think it's worth anyone's time who loved the original.

It's all so tiresome.

"I don't care who Ubisoft sends, I am not going to play Rainbow Six Siege"

e: Nitroid made a cool site inspired by the MGS4 install screen counting down the days until Master Collection Vol2's release.

I just experienced cringe and now you have to as well:

So he's just another Pulse? Literally all the stuff Snake has and does and all they could think of to give him is the Soliton Radar? And why put a dot sight on the SOCOM? Snake doesn't need that, he's got infinite ammo.
Anything, but a new Splinter Cell game or Metal Gear game that isn't a remake/remastered port.
Sometimes, dead is better. I'd rather they continue to Skyrim MGS3 for eternity than have Konami make more Metal Gear Survives. The only way I'd have any degree of faith in it is if it's a new Rising and if they just dumped it 100% on Platinum.

What was consensus on delta? Worth playing over original which I played on ps2? I was thinking about replaying all 3 before the vol 2 release.
Its almost identical to the original, the new models with the old voices looks really uncanny, I dont like the little shuffle snake does before the dive now. There's almost no reason to play it over the hd port. The best part about it is the new cqc animations, look up compilations of cqc'ing the boss and volgin and youve experienced it. The original is just better, more precise, and its a work of art.

I liked it and will probably play it again before vol 2. The main difference I remembered was the shooting mechanics being more like V than original 3. They kept a lot of stuff from the original and to my memory didn't remove a whole lot but correct me if I'm wrong.

Funny story my buddy was visiting me and I had him play it since canonically it's first and he had never played a metal gear game. I figured I'd start him out with the remake since it had just come out and he really liked it. I explained that the older titles have different mechanics and that if he wanted to play them they would feel very different than mgs3 delta. We actually played a bit of mgs1 on vol 1 and he really liked it as well. His only gripe was that if he wanted to play the next Canon game chronologically he needed a ps3 or an emulator for PW.

My point is that for a lot of people it's a good jumping off point into the series, and thankfully now mgs4 and pw are going to be more accessible. The remake put more life into the franchise and my hope is people will play through the original versions of the games after 3 remake to experience the story, especially with the modern ports. That being said I hope they only remake 3 and stop (not likely).
