Not trusting the extremely good journo reviews is understandable, but the gameplay I've seen does look good. There's also the entire game playthrough I linked above that you can look at.

e: Oh wait you probably mean the continuation of the franchise bits. Yeah, fair. They have a lot of trust to earn back even still.

I think it looks really good, and Gameranx is one of the very few games media channels I trust.

I'm excited.

Damn. I liked his voice.

Some spoilers regarding additional gameplay modes courtesy of Konami: PS5 and steam players will get the Ape Escape mode, whereas XBOX players will get a bomberman mode (what is this version exclusive pokemon bullshit).
The nightmare Easter egg from saving your game in jail is now it's own fleshed out game mode.
Secret theatre returns (!!!)
The online multiplayer mode "Fox Hunt" seems to have what is essentially MGS4 octocamo, now called AT-camo, though it looks like you have to manually select your camo on the fly rather than it switching for you automatically.

Yeah I was just reading it runs like shit on console. Glad I'm firmly finished and moved onto PC.

Listening to him now, it sounds like what I was expecting and I'm still down to play it. We knew early that it was going to be the upscaled modern-console-port style of remaster, rather than the remake-from-the-ground up style. I agree with him completely that MGS3 had very little room for improvement, so I think changing little is the best move.

Seventy dollars is quite steep though, I'm hoping the bonus content and multiplayer makes up for it in that regard.

Also @Wesker I understand everything what you meant about the Resi 4 remake now.

You mean the intentional shooting jank? I actually like the game but holy shit that went out of their way to make it less fun than it could've been.
 
It does look good but the reviews I've read said that unlike other remakes like RE4 or SH2 which are more reimaginings this is literally a 1-1 remake of the original.

Which is a good thing don't get me wrong but I'm not much of a graphics whore so I'm skeptical that it's worth $70 when I already own the HD collection.

Good, RE4R was a completely different game wearing the skin of a better title, and less said about SH2R the better. If they don't censor anything and just add new features/improve the graphics that is an easy bank right there. Not like I will buy it, since I don't care to improve on perfection, but we need good remakes right now.

I really dislike remake/remaster culture but I was fairly excited about this and I trust Gameranx so this pushed me to grab it. I'm looking forward to starting Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 and then bouncing between that and Delta in a few days.
