Was Big Boss' story defined and known prior to MGS3? Like, I don't know, written in some sort MGS bible or something? Or he was still treated as a unknown figure from the early Metal Gear games that was somehow related to Solid/Liquid Snake?

I'm asking this because nowadays you have the entire franchise available and you can play and learn about BB's origins in detail, but was this character well developed, even before MGS3 or his backstory was defined from that game onwards?
... I mean his story was fleshed out in the NES games. He's constantly discussing with you on Codex during Metal Gear 1, and he's again the focus of MG2.

So, yeah it was definitely defined and known prior to MGS1, much less MGS3, the whole twist of MGS3 was to take a character we thought we knew, and turn it into some kind of anti-hero.

Don't forget Volgin was likely powerbottoming for Raidenovich given his remarks about how well he knew his lover's dick after he crotch-grabbed Big Boss.
Also Raidenovitch is a sadist, remember how you can openly start punching soldiers and they don't care, Eva even tells you that randomly attacking soldiers would make the charade far more believable... so yeah Volgin is the bottom in the relationship

who's to say they can't switch? volgin is plenty sadistic himself
on a side note, i tried using ai and shit to make a realistic pic of monsoon without his helmet. i've been tweaking it for like an hour so i've become numb to how it looks in terms of uncanny valley

yeah but the idea of Volgin being strictly bottom is funny to me

I'm concerned about the logistics of having any kind of sex with a guy whose body generates that much electricity.

You'd have to wear a ground wire around your ankle or something, and there would still probably end up being grainy 1960s photos of your death leaked onto rotten.com. Open-casket funeral looking like Vladimir Komarov, all because you had a thing for bad boys. No thanks.

I love all the Snakes and I just want to tousle their little mullets and tuck them into bed.

Solidus is my favorite, though. Imagine a Solidus game: you start out doing war crimes and abusing children, then you put in the second disk and it's a resource management sim about being the President.
"The Senate did WHAT!? ...where's my doctor octopus suit I'll show them a hole in the budget..." then 'Seductive Snake' Karl Rowe runs in, wearing Ocelots bandolier over a business suit, to talk his heat meter down.

Second disc could be about being Solidus handlers.

happy sundowner Sunday

To his credit, Solidus tried harder to drain the swamp than any other President.

because monsoon is 6'7, imagine him trying to walk through doorways and bonking his head on the top, therefore malfunctioning his magnetic generator so he just falls apart

Something I really enjoy about the earlier (pre 4) games is the way they utilized the hardware they were operating on to max capabilities. I remember when MGS1 came out, I'd been completely blown away by the graphics and story! Same with 2 and 3 - they delivered a really complex narrative and had depth and intelligence behind the topics explored. I am not a huge fan of 4 considering that era of PS3 games (vague desert military mumbo jumbo) kind of blurs together for me. My favorite sequence in the entire franchise is when the AI begins malfunctioning in 2.
Edit: page 69 lol

MGS2's AI craziness is something so well done and unique, I'm not sure any other games has even attempted anything on that level, let alone captured it successfully. It's a highlight of the game for me.

I can't really think of one actually bad part. The Emma escort mission is the absolute lowest point just because those missions are almost always just bogging the player down in unfun and uninteresting ways in any game, by their nature. Even then, I liked abusing her lmao

what does sundowner even want to spend all that war money on?
my bet is an ultra bbq setup because he just wants to grill goddammit
eta the guy in the bladewolf dlc looks like a fuckin push pop

I like MGSV's gameplay but I hate most plot points, for example I don't like the whole "Venom Snake is a double", hell I even have a headcannon that Venom Really is Big Boss, and Ishmael was just a hallucination, mostly based on one particular scene during mission 1, but like I said its just headcannon.
Venom died after the events of MGSV. The twist was retarded but became kino after you realize it's connected to this game...
