If I were the Ruger CEO and I just had to keep revolver production going I'd consolidate into a refreshed LCR, an Upgraded GP-100, one unified Cowboy LARP gun family in .22lr and Centerfire each and limited production of the Super Redhawk for handgun hunters
As for pistols, it's even more bleak
-While the LCP series is remaining untouched, I'd Dump the LCP and LCP-II, Consolidate around the LCP Max if it's made at all
-Discontinue the Security series
-Probably the Max-9 too
-I don't think anyone is really going to miss the SR1911, It's not like we have a shortage of 1911's in this country
-Ruger 5.7 is locked into the 5.7 War everyone decided to start fighting a few years back, but it's up against FN, PSA, S&W, Kel-Tec and I think Tisas? 5.7 is kind of a meme
-Ruger is basically obligated to Keep the MK.IV around, although other .22lr handguns are absolutely raping it in the ongoing .22lr magazine capacity wars, Ruger really needs to take it double stack with a MK.V Model
-The RXM is almost certainly the best selling Ruger handgun at the moment, they can probably replace some of their LCP offerings and the Max-9 with a Glock 26/43/48 sized RXM
Rifles
-I don't know much about the 77 or Hawkeye series but I assume they can't justify themselves economically anymore in the age where Tikka is doing numbers in the perfectly good sub $1k bolt gun market, which is the same broader overall market where there is very little difference between bolt actions besides build quality
-The Ruger Precision Rifle is already on it's like 4th generation and it sells well so it'll come back
-LC Carbine and LC Charger are in 5.7 and 5.7 is Silly
-PC Carbine and PC Charger are, eh, kind of meh from a features perspective, you're locked Into a proprietary ecosystem, good for ban states though
-The No.1 going away is probably going to result in enshittification and that sucks for the like 2000 guns Ruger makes annually
-It's not listed in the release but they really should do away with the Mini-14, ban states have SCR's, FM Ranch Rifles, the Sig Regulator, the CMMG Compliant guns and a few other AWB compliant semi autos
