Edit: to any kiwibros skittish about the 4473 dank weed xdxdxd question, my FFL and multiple gun shops essentially said "as long as you aren't filling it out high, filling it out stinking of weed, or filling it out with literally drugs on you (also applies to alcohol) you'll be A ok" one of those shops is run by a Boomer too....

Yeah, unless you’re somebody like Hunter Biden where the govt is actively looking to pin you with something you’re fine.

No, child. It's not.

Enjoy prison.

Despite what people want to claim Trump has absolutely zero responsibility for this shit. It was people like Thomas Massie sneaking these into bills. Trumps idea of stunts is promising 5K if the GOP wins the midterms.

People are absolutely going to flood the county with new suppressors and SBR’s and the like. It’s going to be neigh impossible to put this cat in the bag.

Now that wipes aren’t regulated I might get one of those Glock hush puppy conversions.

And I don't think a "Blue Wave" is in any way likely. Sure, people are grumpy with the administration right now, but the approval rating for the DNC have been at record lows for a VERY long time. Not to mention that the Dems have been getting VERY cozy with Socialism lately, which is still extremely unpopular with most Americans. The Republican base is still very enthusiastic, turning out in large crowds for events and rallies. And recent polling still shows most people trust the Republicans with the economy (and other important issues like immigration and the war with Iran) over Democrats. And the ending of racial gerrymandering. And the wins against mail-in voting. And ICE being stationed at polls. There's no way the Dems are getting control over both houses of Congress. MAYBE one by a VERY slim margin. Its just as likely the Republicans win even more seats.

Historically, the opposing party always does well in midterms. But frankly this thread shouldn’t be shit up with politics.

Absolute worst case scenario the Feds will have to do a massive amnesty and the NFA registry is going to explode in the future. If anything I think the next step is suppressors are going to become over the counter items like they are in parts of Europe.

Thisll be difficult for you to accept but if Massie got his way, I wouldn't have been able to buy an SBR without any bullshit nfa paperwork today. He voted against the BBB which lead to all of this and instead worked with faggot communists to try and curtail our freedom for popularity points with losers on the internet.

Thank you, President Donald J Trump. You defeated faggots like Massie to give us our freedom back :semperfidelis:

So for obvious reasons my hacksaw will be busy this weekend so what are people’s thoughts on ideal 12 gauge barrel lengths?
Just past the mag tube/forend. If your going short go as short as you can

But don't go so short you blow your hand off

People block bills like the BBB because they’re not willing to ride or die on the one thing they like when they hate the rest. On principle I’m opposed to sneaking shit into bills even when it sometimes benefits me.

There's plenty of threads to dick ride or alog whatever politician you want. Let the gun thread be the gun thread.

I wasn't trying to introduce politics into the thread other than to voice my suspicions. And also to help folks learn from my mistakes.

That aside, I still find it incredibly gay and retarded any paperwork need accompany the acquisition of a suppressor.

I agree - that being said if you can’t pass a 4473 I’m not gonna cry about you not being able to buy a can.

I’m hoping this leads to a renaissance of integrally suppressed guns. If Ruger doesn’t start making integral MKIV’s they’re stupid niggers.

Ideal 12 gauge barrel lengths?

When you can see the tip of the shell poking out.

I feel looking from outside your concerns to be valid. None of this is a law yet and even ATF seems to acknowledge it. It just requires the tax to be raised back and this set of Happy Times is over. If the Dems get their shit together now or in next elections, they can do some bullshittery to mitigate this as much as possible.

To share my own concern, I don't think the courts sadly give a toss about Bruen and the Common Use argument as much as we would want. Doesn't matter how many short rifles or paperweight suppressors there will be, that won't be the deciding factor. It will be something else.

Gun control is just failing as a platform in the US. Even under Obama and Biden Talmudic tricks like pistol braces and FRT’s never actually got slapped down. Libtards are buying guns now and there’s not telling how many magpul stocks have been slapped on “pistols” this weekend.

If Adam Lanza gunning down a bunch of elementary school kids didn’t accomplish it I seriously don’t believe anything will.

my bad I'm currently looking into either diesel mechanic or climber
Diesel mechanic: get a job in a place where you don't feel like you need to carry while working on the trucks/boats. A gun is going to get in the way guaranteed. I work on my cars as a hobby and no matter where I carried it a gun would wind up getting in the way if I were to try and keep that thang on me while wrenching.
Climber: What benefit do you see to climbing radio towers with a gun on you? Leave it in your truck. There are no nignogs sleeping off fent on radio towers and you're not going to keep it ready while climbing down a ladder if someone is waiting at the base to rob you.

This whole discussion is kind of silly, carrying on the job in many trades just isn't feasible because it will either get in the way or wind up exposed. Most tradesmen are always having to contort themselves into weird positions that would reveal a gun if carrying, whether AIWB, 4:00, ankle, whatever, plus leaning on stuff or crawling around. Basically pocket carry of a small gun is the only realistic option imo and even then leaning on a truck frame with a gun in your pocket while you torque a bolt sounds really comfortable. Maybe fanny pack/body bag carry. I carry all of the time, I considered FFDO, I get it. But sometimes it's just not practical.

You’re right. If I were working at a garage where I thought I needed a gun I wouldn’t be there.

Sir might I suggest a low profile yet classy crossbody bag?

Ironically for an Auto-5/Model 11 18” is really good. The muzzle sits about 4” beyond the handguard so even with the long recoil system the muzzle stays beyond the handguard at all times.

Otherwise just beyond the handguard/magazine tube.
