Mega Rad Gun Thread

It makes me wonder if they’ll sell the EBR as well. That’d be a neat gun to own
If there are any it will doubtless be auctioned off like the other rarities the CMP scrounges up.
My understanding is that the EBR was a unit level mod and the arsenals required the guns returned in as issued condition: wood stocked with irons, but I may be misremembering
As far as I know they have 1000 national match guns that were previously issued to competitors in the 90s that were recalled after 9/11. Im sure those will be auction fodder.
The TRW guns are the best made. They were an aerospace company. Springfield and Winchester are the rarest manufacturers.

Can you get ahold of Wilson Combat magazines down there?
Not really, I'd have to have them imported (which is a pain since magazines fall under ITAR)

Also, don't forget that CMP is also getting surplus shotguns too.

My military shotgun dream gun is a Stevens 520 trench gun, the one that's got kind of a humpback receiver like the Browning Auto-5. Everyone always wants the M1987, and it is a beautiful weapon, but I love the Stevens 520. There was a company about 15 years ago called Counterfeit Trench Guns or something like that which were taking commercial Stevens 520 and 620 shotguns and making very high quality trench gun replicas for not a lot of money.

am i the only person in the universe with a somewhat positive view of the thompson's ergonomics

I've been lucky enough to fire all three major generations of original Thompson SMGs: the 1921, 1928, and M1. I've always found all three to be very comfortable weapons, but tended to prefer the M1A1. I've also fired original M3 Greaseguns and MP40s. They all have their pros and cons, but I've always liked the Thompson. I've talked about this a few times, but my old man was in the Navy and served on a PBR during the Vietnam War. His boatcrew's skipper had an M1A1 Thompson that he traded an ARVN officer for, got really good at controlling the boat with his left hand while firing the Thompson with his right, and never had any issues with it. Their whole boatcrew were sticklers for keeping all their weapons maintained and cleaned, so they rarely had any issues with their weapons.

Hey could you say where grabbed one of those from? I wanted to pick one up but was having a hard time finding a legit looking seller.

Right now you can only get them from the guy making them on eBay. His eBay page is called BTO Surplus. I actually just ordered a second speed loader plus two of the extended grips that are designed to thread onto them. His service has been great so far and he's gotten each of my orders shipped out within about 24hrs of me placing the order.

The Israeli's still have the M1 in service to some extent, either with police or "settlers". Americans love making 10/22 chassis abominations and the Jews love doing to the M1 in much the same way. They received so many M1's as foreign "aid" that a whole cottage industry of modernization parts sprung up.

I'm pretty sure that weird Galil looking one is, or was, an actual IMI/IWI product and it basically is a shrunk down Galil chambered in .30 Carbine that feeds from M1 and M2 Carbine magazines. Not some kind of chassis for the M1 Carbine. I don't know if they're made anymore, but they were intended for Israeli law enforcement and tactical teams to free up military grade weapons for the IDF. Neat little carbines, and I kinda wish they'd make them available in the US. They'd probably be a great home defense weapon or something for kids and smaller people.

Just buy an M14 for your M14 and shuck it for an EBR chassis that you ordered months ago and costed more than the rifle itself. Don't think you can do the install yourself? Well just send it on down to Bubba & Fudd Gunsmithing and they'll take good care of ya fer an honest price.

All of this arguing... you all don't get it. If you're going to appendix carry you should only do so with a HK Mark 23. It has a manual safety for cocked and locked carry, but it also has a decocker and a DA trigger pull that is so heavy that you'd have to cram that mf into your temu holster like you're trying to break it to ND, and it's longer than your pants valuables so you would probably miss them if you did set it off. Plus it's a .45ACP manstopper, so if you do manage to blow your cock and balls off you won't have to worry about living without them.
HK Mark 23? Hmmmm.

It appears you are correct and I am wrong. Its an IMI product called the Magal

Probably not likely. We gave a bunch of those to Ukraine in recent years. The Baltic states have gotten some too IIRC. The M14 is also a pain in the dick to accurize as others have said

Part of the reason why the SEALs went with the 18.5" barrels for their Mk14s along with the SAGE EBR chassis: the shorter barrels were a heavier contour than the USGI 22" barrels normally on the M14, so they are much stiffer. The EBR chassis beds the rifle in two places: where the trigger group connects to the receiver, and there is a bedding block that replaces the original operating rod guide and bolts to the handguard/rail system with three large bolts. So the barreled action group is bedded front and rear in the chassis, and coupled with the stiffer, heavier contoured 18.5" barrel it provides much superior accuracy over the standard 22" M14 in a USGI wood or fiberglass stock while still offering comparable range. And of course, the option of mounting optics much more easily compared to a stock M14 improves things even more.

Guys...I think I kinda like the new keltec piece...
Im a real sucker for anything that folds/collapses and it does both.

Slap a can on that thing and you have certified cool fucking gun

Thank you oh wise Florida Men. May your cocaine flow freely and your oranges be juicy.
Don't you ever let the people who leave the stickers on their funko pops tell you your opinion is wrong.
Everything KelTec has ever made is personified American Fuck You Because I Can.

That new KelTec has me salivating more than an MP5. That thing is fucking sweet.
My buddy brought his full size on our last fishing trip. Flat, surprisingly accurate shooting. Did we have to allen some of the screws back in first? Did it take some getting used to watching the reciprocating bolt flying under my cheek with each shot? Yeah, but did we feel cool unfolding that bitch and tagging beer cans at 50 yards and doing mag dumps? Fuck yeah, brother.

The nub sub doesn't even have to fold, if I wind up getting one, I'll probably fix it shut or something, as its plenty smol enough as it is.

Fuck that huge ass dot they put on it tho, it needs something like a 507C in a pic mount.

I've got the gen3 Sub2k and I fuckin love shooting it. Taken it to probably 20+ range days and only ever noticed one Allen screw backing out a little.
I 3D printed a mount and slapped the shitty discontinued sig red dot on mine (my father in law was throwing away 3 of them so I took them and put them on random crap) and it has held surprisingly well.
He needs his baby brother so they can share mags like any good siblings.

Slap one of these on there. I am a massive faggot for enclosed eotech style optics, though. So much so that I genuinely love my Sightmark M-Spec with the retarded sunshade and am surprised at how accurate it is on my PCC.

I feel you. All my carry guns use CZ75 mags. I would love a battle rattler that could make use of my 33s so I can standardize.

So much so that I'm considering getting a glock to use the mags I have for my UTAS, and getting a BFR 3030 so I can use the same bandolier for my hunting lever and my backup. One day I WILL have a setup that lets me yank the mag out of my primary and put in my seconday to feel cool.

Is that the "sport grip adapter"? Just curious cause I may wanna grab one of those as well. Thanks again! I've been looking for one of these fucking things for ages.

Sightmark has recently decided they wanted to be taken seriously enough to blast trash with. Their highest end optics compete with low-end Holosun stuff in the same price bracket.
