Mega Rad Gun Thread

Kiwi Crew, what's your opinion on Italian guns? I have an affinity for them even when they're bad sometimes.

That won't make a difference. Only things that would are safeties.

Actually, he is making an actively less safe choice. Striker fired is the safer option for EDC by far.

In what universe are striker guns safer than hammer guns? How? DA trigger pull weight will always be more than a striker.
I think the more pressing matter than DA/SA vs striker is THIS NIGGA DIDN'T HAVE A TRIGGER GUARD COVER ON HIS HOLSTER

How the fuck do you find a holster with a sidecar mag carrier and not a trigger cover????

Announcement
. By special authorization, the CMP is pleased to announce the future availability and sale of surplus M14 rifles. Prior to sale, the rifles will be modified to be permanently and irreversibly semi-automatic rifles. The modified semi-automatic M14s will be fully compliant with CMP enabling legislation authorizing the transfer and sale of military surplus .30 caliber rifles.

Details. The CMP anticipates first order fulfilment in the late 2026 to early 2027 timeframe. More details will be published on the M14 order submission process, pricing, limits and sales channels (mail order and physical stores) at a later date. Proceeds from the sale of these and other historic firearms allow the CMP to teach firearms safety and marksmanship, conduct competitions, and provide scholarships and youth programs, nationwide.

Background. Designed by John C. Garand, the M14 is the direct descendant of the M1 Garand rifle. It is a 7.62 rifle officially adopted as the U.S. Army’s service rifle in 1957. The Civilian Marksmanship Program is singularly authorized to modify these rifles and make them available for sale to eligible US Citizens.

How is the quality on M14's compared to the civilian market? I don't mean the M1A but rather the M14's from Fulton's or Bula. I don't remember who made it, but I do remember watching a video that went into detail the QC issues the M14 had while it was in service, and I'm not sure I would want a rifle like that. Maybe I am overthinking it.

Fulton and LRB are probably the highest quality M14's available, but the CMP won't sell a non-working rifle so they will work.

edit: if they have any national match M14's those will be of high quality.

True, you should just carry mace. Seems more your speed. If you conceal carry without one in the chamber youre dumb. If you dont trust yourself and your weapon, dont carry.

Agreed. "Israeli-style" chamber empty carry is fucking retarded. You're just asking to have a failure during a life-or-death situation when mere seconds matter.

Speaking of concealed carry, I ordered my holster for the Python Combat Elite today. Went with Ronin Leatherworks. Dave has been a joy to work with, and to just bullshit with. Super good guy. The holster is going to be one of his Okami holsters, the entire front is going to be OD Green crocodile belly, kangaroo leather lined inside, and a 17° cant with a medium-high ride. If I like it as much as I think I'm going to, I'll also be ordering holsters and matching mag carriers for my Dan Wesson Specialist and Staccato P from him in the future.

Israeli style carry was designed for conscripts given a large variety of WW2 hand-me-down pistols. The manual of arms could vary wildly between them.
You are not a conscript, you probably have better weapons than they did, and you should be better trained than one.

This is going to have worse impacts on the private market than the initial 1911 release, the boomers are going to spend their entire HELOC payments on a crate to sell at the gunshow or list on gunbroker.
I'm going to see if my local range can help me out though. I'm interested for sure.

They also had a ton of Browning Hi Powers which have absolutely pitiful safety detents, there are a lot of posts of people CCing one finding out that, at the end of the day, they had been unknowingly carrying in condition 0.
