I've not had any problems with new Colts.
What do you have that was made under new Colt? I've heard mixed reports but overall it does seem as if there's a trend towards less obvious QC bullshit.
keeping with the garand just so I can use the clips I already bought 70
My brother in Christ, I thought I was excessive with my 210 loaded AR mags.

Damn.
This is very odd. Thats a pretty heavy, expensive collection for a 36 year old tranny. This has gotta be inheritance or a trust fund baby right?

Also lol at hating the government and right wing yet;

This was totally an organic, legitimate collection. I mean, I can't count how many of us have pristine M2s and multiple M203s.
Hey fellas, is it weird that I'm far more into pistols than I am shotguns or rifles?
Not at all. I have a solid 5 digit figure spent on custom pistols alone and that's nothing compared to more than a few members here. Now of course I find out I love LR shooting more.

Compile what you like and don't worry.

I have the new Anaconda
I have never owned any Colt revolvers. Just two 1911s from them in the mid to late 2000s.

That new Anaconda worth the cash compared to any S&W .44 magnum?

Edited to add: the Bodyguard is alright for the money. I'm not at all experienced with owning/carrying other pocket pistols so I can't give you a good comparison. I'll get a few different pocket holsters, carry it for a bit, and give you all a more experienced assessment. One thing I can tell you is that the slide stop on mine was fucking bank vault tight when I first got it. I had to lock the slide back and then press on it damn fucking hard about 100 times before it got to where I can with a lot of effort use either thumb to release the slide forward. Its accuracy is fine, too.

It is the much better gun strength wise. the Anaconda is a true .44 class revolver. the S&W is a marginal .44 which is just barely able to handle it. now, that does make it sleeker, lighter and so on but from a strictly shooting standpoint the Anaconda is better. The old model 29s are very nice but the new ones you have to look at before you buy.

Mine is in .45 colt and I can load those up to .44 mag levels at lower pressures with a larger diameter and equally heavy or heavier bullet. The smith and wesson model 25 (.45 colt variant of the model 29) can only be loaded to .45 ACP +P pressure at the maximum.
Any new S&W, .44 or not, is a coinflip as to whether or not you're sending back. @Romulus augustulus and I each have an Anaconda, but mine is in .44. Aesthetically there's blemishes but functionally it's great.
My python was a Blem, but I've never actually found what the blem is supposed to be.

Anyone seen one of those new large frame Chiappa Rhinos in .44 for sale? I've added myself to a bunch of stock alerts but it seems like they haven't made another batch of them yet. It's an absolute meme of a gun but I think it would be neat.

The lines on mine aren't perfect, the most noticeable being around the lower screw for the sideplate. Mechanically perfect though I want to get a Wolff trigger return spring eventually.
I plan to get a action job for mine to remove that stupid ledge they had to put on the hammer to meet california's drop safety reqs. that is singular reason the new colt's single action pull is so strange feeling.

Got a picture of what you're referring to?
I can not seem to find a photo of it but basically to meet California's onerous drop safety requirements which entail dropping the revolver, hammer at full cock at all angles, Colt had to place a notch on the hammer where there was not one before. this notch requires the hammer to move a few thou of an inch backwards before dropping, so it leads to a small but perceptible take up in the single action pull. in essence this notch is a safety notch which you must over come with finger pressure.

By removing this notch and some further polishing of some of the internal parts you get a single and double action pull the equal of the old python and semi-custom revolvers like the Manuhrin and Korth.

I can understand why Colt did this. California is a huge market for the gun makers, even with the stupid laws. Smith and Wesson similarly compromised to meet the requirements. Most of their revolvers are grandfathered in, but that is likely to change. You know how they have been removing the hillary hole on select new models like some of the J-Frames and the mountain guns? That wasn't out of charity to us, because retooling costs a shit-ton of money. no, that was because they were placing an inertial safety into the frame using the space in the frame previously taken up by the hillary hole.

it's a crime that the RXM's little bullshit ass FCI costs anything more than the ballpark of like forty bucks
