yeessss, come to the light.Unironically been carrying a s&w model 10 (new ones come without the hillary hole!) after buying it with my tax returns last month. Only been daily driving it for a month at this point but it has been fun, and I don't really mind the weight nor feel undergunned. Oddly enough it seems to sit better in my waist than the g19 I carried for a decade does, possibly due to all the weight being in the cylinder of the gun instead of the grip. I just like carrying it.
All I carry anymore is a revolver. I got a SP101 .357 for pocket carry at work, A python 3 incher for town and such and a Anaconda .45 for woods walking and outdoor doings. with a proper stiff and wide belt the weight is hardly noticeable. Get you a 1000 rounds of .38 (I like Norma), and by the time you shoot it up you'll be a dandy fine shot with your gun.

Revolvers are perfectly cromulant EDCs, and I'm tired of tactifags crying about them.

I love carrying wheelguns. The first gun I ever bought for carry was a Smith and Wesson Performance Center 627 V-Comp. It had a 5" diamond profile, semi-bull barrel with interchangeable muzzles that could either be a compensator, or basic muzzle cap, and 8-shot cylinder. I carried it in a Mernickle Custom Holsters OWB holster made from stingray skin. It was a big, heavy gun, but it hid away just fine under a t-shirt. It's why I'm used to carrying full-size handguns all day.
As I've talked about a bit recently in this thread, I'm itching to get another wheel gun for carry. My two carry guns right now are autos: a Dan Wesson Specialist full-size 1911 in .45 ACP, and a Staccato P 9mm. I've decided I'm going to get a new Colt. My old man always wanted to own a Python, but couldn't afford one. I really like the new Snake Guns, and really like the Grizzly and Kodiak versions of the Python and Anaconda. I'll likely get the 3" version of the Grizzly, but I'm REALLY tempted to get a 4.25" of the Kodiak. I don't need a .44 Magnum for carry, so I'll likely carry it with .44 Special defensive loads if I go that direction. If they made a 3" version of the Kodiak or Anaconda that would likely be what I get, but they unfortunately don't. I really like the way the 3" Python/Grizzly looks. It just has such a nice profile and looks so balanced.

That's the consensus on carrying a .44, even Dirty Harry carried Specials.
I think @Romulus augustulus posted about the 3" Anaconda coming eventually, I might hold off just a while.

Looks like Colt is making the new Grizzly just like the originals where it is a Python barrel on a King Cobra frame, and not just a Python with a ported barrel. I don't know why I had it in my head that the new ones were just a Python variant. It doesn't surprise me that they are trying to be as faithful as possible to the original guns. Colt under CZ has been really good about that.
That being said, I'll probably get a 3" Python instead of the Griz if I go .357. Probably the Python Combat Elite and immediately swap out the G10 boot grips with full size grips, since those boot grips are just too small for my hands. I do like G10 grips and there is a custom grip maker (Altamont Grips I think) that are making some nice ones that I like a lot which are full size target grips, like what would normally come on a Python.
That being said, I'll probably get a 3" Python instead of the Griz if I go .357. I really do enjoy it, I was also surprised how affordable .38spc was for a non 9mm pistol round. At my local stores its even cheaper than 5.56, and I picked up some spear gold dot +p JHP as the new model 10s say they are rated for it right on the barrel, recoil wasn't bad at all.
I showed up to a couple of community shoots/local fuck around days with it and kept getting that at the start. Endless questions about why I carried that instead of X polymer frame striker fired gun. I just like carrying this revolver more and showing up to the class with it felt like I was, as the kids say, aura farming with it. I will admit I need to get better at shooting double action but that is something I am working on.

If memory serves Lord Humongous had a Smith and Wesson Model 29 with 8-3/8" barrel, and of course scoped. My first Model 57 was pretty much identical, just in .41 Magnum instead of .44 Magnum and without the glass. My current Model 57 has a 6" barrel, and no glass. I've got kind of a boner for vintage pinned and recessed N Frame magnums. Also owned a 4" Model 28/Highway Patrolman from 1956, basically a less fancy version of the Model 27 with a more matte blued finish, no orange/red insert on the front sight, Magna grips instead of the Coke Bottle target grips, and standard width hammer spur and trigger instead of the wide target trigger and hammer spur. If that Model 28 had 200 rounds through it in its entire life, I'd be shocked. It was like brand new when I got it. I really regret letting that one go.

The 4 1/4 in anaconda is the perfect middle ground. Full house magnums are perfectly tolerable in it with the proper shooting technique. I can fire my 4 1/4 all day lone with magnum loads easily.
the ~4 inch revolvers balance velocity and portability. historically, that barrel length is the most sold/ carried. nearly all police issued revolvers had ~4 inch barrels.
the 3 inch is already at the distributors.

It was a custom knife I had commissioned from an outfit (IIRC) called Jericho Bladeworks, or something like that. It was one of two I bought from them. Sadly, like my old gun collection, I no longer have them.
When my dad started working for INS in the mid-80s and up to the late-90s when INS went to the Beretta 96D Brigadier, his issued sidearm was a 4" S&W 686. He loved that pistol and was pissed when Janet Reno wouldn't allow INS agents to purchase their old issued sidearms when they made the switch to the Beretta. He HATED the Beretta.

It's stick BCG is fine. If he wants to be FANCY, a Toolcraft hard Chrome one is as much as you need to spend.
This right here. So long as a BCG is in spec, most BCGs beyond toolcraft Phosphate or Hard Chrome models are you paying for a miniscule improvement.

The BCGs that Lewis Machine and Tool are quite nice, and battle proven. The one that came in my MWS308 has a hard chromed carrier and bolt, with some small parts such as the extractor and cam pin having a black (possibly phosphated?) finish. I believe the bolt itself is an enhanced type, similar to those found on other high-end ARs.
I've got a stripped Lancer L15 lower I've been meaning to build up. Strongly considering getting an LMT MRP upper for it, SBR'd, build up a nice little CQB carbine. Maybe even get a .300blk barrel for it since I've got that Energetic Armaments Vox S .30cal suppressor and can run it with wipes. I definitely recommend LMT's stuff, though I know they aren't exactly a budget brand. But if you want something you can trust your life on, they're among the best IMHO.

One thing I've noticed is a not-insignificant group of people that were paying for tax stamps prior to this year that are very salty that now that the government doesn't get paid $200 to do their fucking job for each transaction more people are now registering SBRs and buying cans. The seethe from those people is fucking hilarious.

I'm not. I paid for four tax stamps: three suppressors and an SBR. I have no regrets and feel no bitterness. I think it is fucking awesome that more people can enjoy even more aspects of their 2A rights and hope we win even more battles on this front. Maybe one day before I die I'll be able to walk into my local bang shop and walk out with the Knights Armament LAMG I've been dreaming of ever since learning about them.
