A few things today
Rock Island Armory has teased something on X which is to be revealed on the 16th, dubbing it a "game changer". Notable game-changers from other manufacturers in the recent past have included the Glock 44 (lol) and the Franklin Armory Reformation (lol). However Given RIA's recent release of the RIA 5.0 which is a genuinely fresh design at a relatively low price point there could be something promising. I personally think a $1000-1250 2011 is pretty likely to take the next step in proliferation after Springfield put one out for $1500.
Next and I missed this initially, apparently PWS is going to discontinue their Pro line to clear up manufacturing space for several new, unnamed products.
Lastly I was made aware of a very interesting report via a video from Kommando Store regarding the low end pistol manufacturers of the Southern California "Ring of Fire" which included Raven Arms, Davis Industries, Phoenix Arms, Lorcin Engineering, Sundance Industries, Jennings Arms (Later known as Bryco Arms, then Jimenez Arms and current JA Industries) and to a lesser extent AMT (of Automag fame) and the interconnected relationships most of the companies had(they were largely all owned by a single extended family initially). The Report is from 1994 and is titled "Ring of Fire - The Handgun Makers of Southern California" and is an exhaustive summary of the Companies involved, their sales, a breakdown of their sales by caliber, their overall percentage of national sales (Which in 1992 were 34% of all handguns sold in America) and the people involved in running them.

The story of the Ring of Fire is a fascinating one that could make a really interesting dramatized netflix show, Hell the rise of The Ring of Fire was only possible because of the assassination of RFK. I always assumed that guns like these were made in small numbers by short lived manufacturers, it astounds me that they were so prominent.
