1 honestly isnt all that bad, its just the internet areas all looking the same that drags it down, and the encounter rate, can't defend 4
1 was more of a test run than anything, I played through it recently and thought it was OK. 2 is a noticeable improvement but some of the game design logic is downright awful for forward progress, and running through every map across the game to find 1 random NPC or jacking into a random grill is obtuse as shit.

I'm running through 3 now and the difficulty spikes are really noticeable. I have no idea how I managed this so easily as a kid.

Just saw this vid about imagine leaving another project he was working on with level 5 games.

Makes me wonder how awful he is to work with if mighty no.9 and this is anything to go by.
There's a Twitter post from Hideki Kamiya of Clover Studios fame saying Inafune is a businessman. I would expand on that by saying that Inafune is basically Japanese Herman Hulst.

Who is Herman Hulst? The guy who pushed Concord. He tried to make Concord a franchise before it had a single successful game, hence the Secret Level episode featured here:

Inafune tried the exact same thing with Mighty No. 9 and his Mega Man Legends successor Red Ash.

What tips 1 over the line into being worse is the electricity puzzle. That would unironically take like 20 hours without a guide.

The writers and artists for the comics are as follows.

Mega Man Timelines #1 (May 28th) - Tavis Madien (story), Kenny Ruiz (art)

Mega Man X Timelines #1 (June) - Daniel Arseneault (story), Edwin Huang (art)

Mega Man Zero Timelines #1 (July) - Ian Flynn (story), Hanzo Steinbach (art)

Mega Man ZX Timelines #1 (August) - Matt Moylan (story), Dax Gordine (art)

Mega Man Legends Timelines #1 (September) - David Oxford (story), Mic Fong (art)

I have no idea how good or bad this is; I only recognize a few names. No idea who Daniel Arseneault is for example.

To David Oxford's credit, when someone asked on Twitter recently if he would try to write in his Iris-like OC from his Legends fanfiction, he responded in a confused/negative manner.

So I after going through and liking metal slug attack reloaded I thought I would like mmm dive offline.

They couldn’t even make the controller support work with the menus which is nuts considering Attack did the menu thing perfectly with some nitpicks. (Still have to individually level units up rather than use a mass lv like how they do with evolve but it’s for the better to add a little bit of that player agency, not that you don’t already have that with the equip system and having to repeatedly play stages to get certain items. Very grindy) but I still enjoyed it.

It also helps that attack is a completely different game than most other metal slug games.

Playing Xdive made me want to play any other Megaman game other than itself. I don’t know whether having you just out right being able to buy characters is a good thing or not. With Attack you had to get the premium currency to unlock new units but with each achievement and first level clear they handed out so many silver medals that there really wasn’t any issue, and had kind of a neat tier system where you had to get every character in platinum in a tier before being able to move on to the next one.

Normally I groan a bit at "Cyberspace" stages, but I liked the switching mechanic in this one. Vulpex looked like a fun fight, too.

I hope it doesn't take 20 more years for this to release, it looks good, and Capcom isn't doing shit with MEgaman other than that Dive game which I dunno if it's worth it, as it used to be mobile game slop.

X Dive is all right now that it's offline with no gacha nonsense. Definitely pick it up on sale, it's not worth full price.

I found this comment under the video and thought it was funny.

It's pretty funny that they just threw in Axl after it said prominently in the FAQ that he would never, ever be in.

Also, fyi, sanitize your YT links. Everything after the "si" is not only necessary but harmful, as that can include tracking tokens that can potentially violate your online privacy. Just an FYI.

so he's a con-man that has zero fucking knowledge of the market he is trying to dive in? fucking wowzers.

I know this is necro and the news itself is a year old at this point, but I think this is due mentioning 'cause this is the largest Mega Man related drama I've heard of since Mighty No 9. Last year, a Mega Man fangame/level design contest was released, Magmml 3.
MaGMML3_Title113.webp

TLDR: 176 levels were created through a Game Maker Studio engine and judged by a panel consisting of figures in the Mega Man community. These same judges were also responsible for content other than the entries, and one of these guys is ACESpark, the author behind several famous Mega Man fangames.

Now, Magmml3 went through development hell, but the team kept quiet about it until several weeks after release, after which they posted a post-mortem on the Discord. Turns out, ACE himself was the cause of most it. He attempted to hijack the entire project and turn it into a vanity project about himself. And even then, he made some truly baffling decisions, such as inserting the Mythbusters and creating an entire hub full of vomiting robots. He dragged up development for years not only with these choices but also slacking off on his dedicated stages for the game, to the point where Magmml2's hostess had to come in and finish it.

This guy was also highly respected in the Magmml community itself for his impressive. stages, including a homage to Seven Force. But obviously, he's never coming back to Mega Man anytime soon.

EDIT: His fursona:
