Didn't they release this as a local single player game?
Yeah, but I doubt that people played this for the gameplay. As well as the offline version lacking the collaboration content (the skins from Monster Hunter, Devil may Cry, and Street Fighter), and obviously the online features as well as the whole gacha structure

The Devil May Cry content was added back by mods:

Unfortunately the modding scene has been taken over by weirdos and coomers for the most part from what I can see. They are able to make new characters from scratch like this:

However, they have not used that ability to restore the other collaboration characters you have mentioned.

@MetokurGroomedMe, who had the modding discord announcement, might have more information. From what I understand, the head of the modding discord likes the character. This is the next one being made:

Apparently, the modders are not actually interested in adding most kinds of Mega Man content.
the beyblade guy is their mascot, so he was their test character for getting things figured out. i'm really hoping that they make new mega man content soon.

I don't have any real opinion because as always with this sort of shit none of these people can ever give a summarized short version of events and truly expect you to give enough of a shit to watch 2 hour long essay exposes but I wouldn't doubt it if he did awful shit and was a nonce but this also gives me projared situation vibes all over again with everyone just jumping for blood in this case due to his slight right leaning viewpoints and questioning the X/Zero paring seen as homophobic and they now got a proper enemy to go after
needless to say, i think everyone involved in this should put a mosin-nagant to their head and pull the trigger
Crazy how even being a shota fapping spic isn't enough to stop the SJWs if you utter anything not quite woke enough.

You're in luck, they just released both versions of Model A, including their base forms as skins and a new weapon to go with them.

Has anyone bothered to play the "Make a Good Mega Man Level 3" competition? I played the second one years ago and it was pretty miserable. Is the new one just more of the same?

The autists that plague this fandom enjoy making horrible Mega Man levels, games, art, you name it. I fear it's more of the same.

Eh its pretty fun. I had more fun exploring the hub worlds than some of the levels, the dialogue is shockingly lacking tumblirisms, and the main plot is lacking that wink wink nudge nuge shit.

Also the fact you can skip so many shitty levels helps a lot

Surprised no one has brought it up but Megaman comics are coming back apparently under Udon Entertainment
not really sure how to feel on it, I enjoyed archie megaman comics a lot and was saddened that it ended so prematurely with a lot of the budget likely wasted for that crossover, but I also don't know anything about Udon and hope they have a good writer to hit the same highs as archie

UDON's previous work relating to writing and MM was the Field Guides. I would not hope for much.

Especially if it's the exact same people doing it they contracted those out to before.
i don't think i'm familiar. are there robot master field guides or something?

Udon's artists are almost always degenerate fetishists as well. Hopefully the comics will have an editor that will catch things like that. People forget that the series is made for children and teens.

Yes, the Robot Master Field Guide and the Maverick Hunter Field Guide. I can speak a bit on who the writers are for them to cement the point I am making if you wish, but it's skeevy.
would love to hear about it, and if there was any lore in those books. maybe i should look it up too.

There is some otherwise-unheard-of lore in those books, but it's extremely unclear if it's actual lore. I'll explain why.

Basically, they were written by Nadia Oxford and David Oxford. They're known in the fandom as Red Draco and Black Draco/Nytetrayn respectively, and have been around for a very long time. They're a married Jewish couple who live in Toronto, Canada.

They're actually nice people, from what I understand. Just weird. Nadia Oxford posts under her real name on Twitter. The problem is that she does this kind of thing where she intersperses her Mega Man content with talk about, say, her (shockingly not homosexual) smut Final Fantasy 6 fanfiction. In other words, there's no separation of the two kinds of thing. This is why any lore in the Field Guides is questionable at best: how much of it is real vs. a fanfic. Aside from MM, she's done liner notes for some Breath of Fire vinyl record thing.

Nytetrayn has, to my knowledge, done only one weird thing. He uses his MM website, which used to be one of the larger ones, to promote his MM Legends prequel fanfiction, Legends of the Halcyon Era. It's, as you might guess, rather sexualized, including a guy stripping in front of a kid character named Radi. Again, the issue here beyond the content is the whole "why are you showing this off in public, on your website's Twitter account, which is easily tied to your IRL identity?"

This gets more suspicious when you find out he commissioned "cover art" for that fanfic from an artist known as VSpyren, also known as VCampan. Why is this suspicious? VSpyren has at least some months ago reportedly been in the middle of doing lolicon of at least Palette, and I seem to also recall being told they drew Roll in that manner as well. Does Nytetrayn know that? I cannot say.

So yeah. The writers Udon gets for MM stuff are a tad questionable, and if they're involved I'm not convinced they can keep it professional/clean.

If it is Nadia and David Oxford they probably will keep it a clean since they both understand that the series (and comics) are for children. Nadia is a semi-regular on the Retronaughts podcast and a couple of months ago did a episode about the Archie Mega Man comics with its author Ian Flynn: https://retronauts.com/article/2181/retronauts-episode-578-mega-man-comics

It was pretty clear that both of the Oxfords understand what target demo to aim for....but they are both libtard Canadians so who knows what "for kids" means for them now.
