So for anyone who's played the BMZ series, what makes their stories better than the Gunvolt ones? Or do you find them both shitty? I find BMZ to be the good type of generic story, nothing new or surprising, but it works and it's not intrusive.

Also on Mega Man Zero, I am shocked given how sloppy the first game was they nailed Zero's movement for the series so well.

then on MMZ3 he got rid of X's soul to make him pass the torch to zero, the wikia text about this is funny.
Correction, he got rid of a fifth of X's soul.

One of the retcons IntiCreates did when they changed DNA Souls into Cyber Elves was what happened to X.

When he sealed the Dark Elf, his DNA Soul split into five pieces. One piece each went into Leviathan, Phantom, Harpuia, and Fafnir, which is how they have X's DNA: they have a piece of his DNA Soul.

The fifth piece rejected Copy X for no reason and wandered off somewhere, that piece is Cyber Elf X.

Huh.

kinda wished i didnt know a lot of this stuff. megaman zeero was just a smarter megaman x in terms of story stuck on an unfortunate system before i knew all of this.

Well, what IntiCreates does is they write all this kind of stuff in sourcebooks or game websites, then put in a disclaimer to the effect of "some of this may not be canon" as a cop-out.

No, I don't quite understand why they bothered to write any of it at all if that's the case.

Probably because they couldn't fit it in. If I remember correctly the Mega Man GBA games had notoriously small cartridge spaces. for Battle Network, it was a deliberate choice to make the games more affordable to kids.

What I don't like about some of this stuff is that it kind of takes away some of the I suppose mystery in very stupid ways nobody really wanted.

The five soul pieces thing seems to just be more screwing over of X to make Zero look better, since it seems to be implying that it's X's fault Copy X went bad due to not integrating with him.

It was probably because of memory limitations as they did try to do relatively a lot with their games and the GBA was not the most powerful console out there.

I dont like how INTI's later series just dont take themselves seriously at all like ZX and Zero did. If I wanted to listen to a bunch of faggots actively make fun of the game's story, I'd go watch youtube. The characters themselves have no need to do any of that and their attempts at humor come off as purposely insulting rather than being self aware.

when zero destroys his og body the explosion kills the other three guardians but zero is saved by the mother elf, the cyber elf X with his face is the one that appears at the end of MMZ3 to pass the torch and go to reploid afterlife but on MMZ1 he has a different face, more like a atom but his cyber elf body is the same.
Harpuia's Page said:
the end of the game with Fefnir, Leviathan and the original X, where they help Zero finally defeat Omega. Omega and Zero fall to the ground, both exhausted. The Dark Elf appears and hovers over Omega, seemingly protecting him. Zero stands again to face Omega. Weil protests and asks if he feels any attachment to his original body. Zero dashes forward and destroys Omega once and for all. The Dark Elf protects him from the explosion with her body, but Harpuia, Fefnir, and Leviathan are destroyed.

You should see the audio drama track of X and the four, it is cringe as shit.

EDIT: Here you go. Yes, they basically hid Elpizo's backstory in this thing.

Didnt they purposely kill off zero at the end of 4 just because the developers were getting sick of the series themselves at that point?
Quite ironic how X survived Inafune's passion project in some way yet it was still zero that was killed in the end.

And yet he was essentially brought back anyway as Model Z. Same thing with X, the Four Guardians, and, for whatever reason, Axl. Fuck the whole "Model A stands for Model Albert" bullshit. It's Axl and you know it.

It may as well have been with the same color scheme, overall armor shape, and dual pistols. There was just no spikey haircut. Albert doesn't do shit but stand there menacingly and that twist was one of the funnier parts of the plot that really didn't fit the character.

I just want a game that gives closure to what happened to the original cast. I know it's vaguely implied Zero killed them all, but I'd rather that be more fleshed out.
