Oh nice, a McDonald's thread! I knew becoming a wagie would be worth it someday.
Sorry you had to go through that. If it makes you feel better, though, I genuinely don't think that's the norm anymore. I don't deny that completely revolting McDonald's franchises exist, but a store is really only as good as its local department of health. My local health inspector will summon Bahamut to tear the whole fucking store down if we're not completely up to code, so our food is always rigorously cooked and tested for safety. But as everyone knows, no oversight means no regulation. You might be fine at your average suburban McDonald's, but if you live in the ghetto, you're taking your stomach's life into your hands every time you walk in.
So true. Hash browns and a Sausage Egg and Cheese are probably the only thing I will ever eat from their breakfast menu (okay, maybe a burrito too). I will never understand why people purchase hotcakes, because making them is easily one of the worst parts of my morning. We have to take the hotcakes out and microwave them for a minute or something, and for that length of time the entire kitchen is absolutely choked out by the smell of fake french vanilla and sugar. Since kitchen doesn't have any meaningful ventilation, making one of these fuckers is like being anally vored by the Pillsbury Doughboy for the next half hour.
Also if your eggs are dry, that's because they've been sitting in the warmer so long that all the moisture in them has evaporated. You can get around this by asking for them fresh, although it's kind of a hit or miss as to whether kitchen will actually honor your request.
Ditto on McRib. The sauce is syrupy sweet and the meat is the closest thing to vulcanized rubber this side of a Goodyear. The smaller portion sizes are also true, if only because you can't Super Size anything anymore. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, because honestly if you need more than just the sandwich and a small fries (at most) to fill you up, you have bigger problems than fast food portion sizes.
I know this is a baitpost but I have seen so many orders from people who are trying to "cheat the system" by going to McDonald's and substituting their way to a healthier burger. It gets painfully obvious when they ask for a Big Mac, no salt, no bun, extra lettuce and tomato on the side. Like, at some point, you have to make your own food. A burger is still a burger, no matter how much nutritionally worthless roughage you add into it.
Don't you have a federal trial to attend?
I worked at MacDonald's when I was in college.
Rats were scouring the place and had to clean up shit tons of those dead rodents.

Their pancakes and eggs are dry as ever. Pancake would be as stiff as a board. Just make your own or go somewhere else.
Hash browns are to die for, not going to lie.

The latter part of that probably isn’t the worst thing. Their portion sizes back in the day were much smaller than in recent years (I mean comparing the 1950s to now), and so people’s sizes were also smaller.
Hot take (maybe): the McRib is fucking disgusting and I loath to see it come out for limited release. I have no idea why people get so excited for it.

McDonald's is full of fat and salt, thus hell on your system. Also why people love it.
If I go I only get fresh fries, no salt. Still greasy.

I went to McDonald's today and got a Filet-O-Fish combo with a bacon cheeseburger on the side. I was eating it in my vehicle in the parking lot and listening to an audiobook when I glanced up and saw the McDonald's worker I ordered outside having a cigarette.
She waved at me and I nodded and had to wait 7 minutes before she went back inside and I could eat in comfort again.
