I think name changes and the UUID system were introduced around the same time. What they were probably intended for was to keep a player banned from a server even if they changed their name, the problem here is that Mojang made it way too easy for the public to track UUID's when they should've just been an internal thing tied to the account.
 
I'm setting up the spawn area (so I can copy+paste it if I have to refresh the world). Once I've got a good base for it done I'll open it.

Java 1.16 with some Paper plugins for my sake and to give people shit to make starting off more merciful. If I want custom mods I'll get in touch with @OhTheBliss and another Java developer I know to see if we can set something up. Depends on the success of things.

People seem to want staking now based on the poll, but I kind of want to try anarchy first.

Wouldnt the server be more like "semi anarchy" since you'd have mods keeping tabs on dipshits hacking?
