Cartoonists these days cannot do anything without pissing off a lot of people. One might see this as a contest of sorts on who can piss off the community the most, and I bring to you all the person who seems to piss off the people the most in the twitter community is Max Gilardi. Also known on places like youtube, newgrounds, and twitter HotDiggedyDemon.
Max started off like any other artist making original content mostly for Newgrounds. He first started off with a series that focused on a guy named Jerry focusing on his depression, then later focusing on an absurd series called "Wacky Game Jokez, 4 Kidz!". Max would later finally find his calling(and his audience) by doing parody content cartoons. Starting with Pony.Mov(based off of the My Little Pony Friendship is magic series), a parody series that had six episodes and went into violent territory geared for an older audience, often compared to the original Ren and Stimpy show. Most of the parody cartoons have a rinse and repeat method(Take a beloved property, make the main character an asshole, make it edgy for the sake of being edgy with content that doesn't work, rinse and repeat). His most recent work is just getting people into being click baited into his original web series called 'Brain Dump', a web series that has himself animated reviewing(but not actually reviewing said movie or show) co hosted by an animated ghost named 'Goofball'.
Similar to another cow on here, Max would later do something that nobody likes to keep bringing up to him. On August 23rd. 2016, it was revealed that Max was hassling with some women by being an asshole to them right after his review of the 2016 Powerpuff Girls reboot came out.
This kept on going for awhile, at least until he was suspsended for making violent threats on twitter
Prior to hassling with some female fans, he began drawing offensive fan-art of Steven Universe. It was also revealed that Max himself has been accused of being racist for drawing both blackface and jewish stereotypes.
While this has pissed off some people, others have wrote this off as him being 'him' in terms of his humor, others saw this as him being downright racist, as evidenced with these drawings that he made back in 2021.
What's a bit surprising is despite the talent he has, putting his racist content and comments to the sideline, he ended up getting a job as a storyboard artist for season 12 on Spongebob. He did storyboards for the episode 'Boss for the day'.
His scene was cut and was not credited in the final episode, as of now this is the only time he has worked for a professional studio. I don't believe he has plans for pitching anything to major studios as of now, he wouldn't be too out of place(in terms of behavior) for how places like Cartoon Network keeps having weebs making their cartoons for them. Out of all artists that keep pissing off people, Max is the one that pisses off people for the sake of just pissing them off and the general audience of Twitter is just giving him a pass. Regardless of who's in the right or wrong about the actions he's done online to these people.
