Yeah, that is a fair point - it's pretty bad in the telegram too. From now on anyone who fedposts should probably be banned immediately and permanently, they are bringing so much extra trouble for the site and for Null it's ridiculous. I just think that in this particular case it wouldn't have mattered anyway, Lucas straight up lies and people who should know better slavishly follow him. He cites regular posts and twists their words and people believe him anyway.

I think the ultimate parallel internet would probably operate off of some kind of decentralized network, in other words it's like some kind of onion site. Sure onionland is slow, but so was the old internet pre-highspeed. The difficulty of censoring and controlling people on such a network would ultimately make it a hive for dissidents to the clear internet and helps to prevent a pendulum swing too far for in the highly optimstic event that the dissidents do manage to reign supreme in the end. Of course, the pessimists reading this should already have an idea on what the opponents of this parallel internet would do. They would try to have it declared illegal if it is not already so. They would try to have the prospect of an internet they cannot ever control banned, in order to intimidate people to never connect to it. Associations with "the dark web" and "criminal activities and enterprises" would be leveraged against it much like how some groups leverage that against onionland today. But honestly I think that a parallel internet is only good as insurance and as a place to fall back to, the enemy loves it when you're all holed up in your base and unable to strike back at them because it means you're right where they want you to be. So naturally one should not completely retreat from the clearweb, regular dissident incursions should be made in order to maintain ideological relevancy and help to try to push the direction of the internet another way.
