Maybe they start with sites like this, that have speech they don't like, next, you can't log in to your bank account because they say you are an extremist. Nobody craves free speech anymore. That's why the Democrats, EU, etc. are all about clamping down on "misinformation" (especially since 2020) and have successfully gotten people to praise censorship and demand more of it. And for most people, Republicans included, it doesn't matter since they have all the free speech in the world to live their normie lives and talk about Mahvel, sportsball, K-pop, and AAA games like everyone else does. "Free speech" is just an abstract concept, which is maybe a good thing, but not something they think of.

Rarely, they might have an encounter with the local Yaniv, Gibes, or Keffals moves into town and suddenly they're confused why they can't criticize this individual. But this doesn't really happen. I bet the Star Wars grandpa who made fun of that screaming troon or most of the people who live in Yaniv's apartment never thought they'd be in a situation like this. But the vast majority of people will just see it on the news and think "oh, what a weirdo" and move on.

It's really too bad we've lost our rights thanks to total apathy.

This may be an idealistic take, but I reckon that a fair portion of troons have both the attention span and inclination to delude themselves.

My evidence is that many of them work in tech; how many fucking programmers have trooned out at this point due to being terminally online? Programming socks may be a meme, but memes reflect reality. A good portion of these people aren't stupid. Or at least, not entirely.
