All discussion of the candidates, updates and results should go here

For example- here's a video of Ted Cruz vying for world domination.

Also Hilary Clinton is a crook and nobody should have sex with her.

Discuss

Hillary Clinton
I'm voting Hillary Clinton. I avoid talking politics on this sub-forum on this forum because politics are divisive, there are always two sides. Republicans and Democrats, there's a left and there's a right. I can have my opinion and there will always be an opposing one. That is the nature of a healthy democracy, but this is not that, this is about a megalomaniac is driven by nothing but ego. A man who cares exactly zero about the people of this country. A person who brags about sexually assaulting women and shames others for the way they look. I'm speaking up now because this election has very little to do with politics, policy, or legislation. This has to do with morals, and principles. I'm voting for Hillary because it make no mistake there is only one person that can defeat him, one person that can keep him away from power and it is her. I'm not a huge fan of her style of politics. I'm entirely aware of all the criticism against her, I'm aware of all her failures and shortcomings, but she's intelligent, and she knows what she's doing. More importantly, she's mentally sound, she's responsible, and she's sane. I want to end this by calling out all big KiwiFarmers, some that I know, and some that other may know. See, making posts like this they're not popular. They're not going to get you followers, they're not going to boost your positive ratings, but there is something much more valuable than followers or positive ratings. And that is backbone. That is not being scared to stand up for what is right regardless of the cost. The top 20 KiwiFarmers reach over a million positive ratings every single week every seven days. We have the power to activate a demographic electorate that isn't typically very active, that is young people. See, this generation if we're all banded together, we have the power to ensure that this tax avoiding, lying, racist, misogynist stays away from power and out of the White House, but it requires all of us coming together. So if your favorite KiwiFarmer says things like "I don't like to talk politics on this forum" or "I'm not going to reveal who I'm voting for". Call them out. Sitting on the sidelines this time around is not okay, this election is different. And if this guy gets elected, and you stood back with your arms folded and didn't speak out against them. It makes you complicit, it makes you partially responsible for handing him the reins of power.
All right I'll see you tomorrow for a fun happy post. Thank you for understanding, and thanks for the time

If I wanted a Hillary campaign staff e-mail I would have signed up for it at her website she touts every three minutes during debates.

"From the desk and mentally sound mind of Mrs. Hillary Rodham Clinton"

Man, I checked out the Trump General on /pol/ out of morbid curiosity. I feel sorry for them, they're completely delusional.

I don't think Bernie would have been able to win over voters quite like Clinton is. Nobody really likes Clinton, this is true. But the thing people keep ignoring is that Trump has basically got the far-right fanatic vote locked down, which just so happens to be about 30-40% of the country. I think liberals keep telling themselves that it's solely about Clinton because the thought of living in a country where this many people genuinely love Trump scares the shit out of them (as it should). But unfortunately for them it's true. Massive swathes of the republican party are in love with Donnie boy. Clinton is winning because she's just centrist enough to be palatable to a lot of independents and moderate conservatives and present herself as a reasonable option. Sanders? I'm not so sure he'd be able to pull that off. Berniebros keep making the mistake of assuming that the whole country agrees with them.

I was almost on board with Bernie Sanders, but after I read a couple well-sourced articles explaining what his economic plans would entail, I bailed on him.

Bernie only managed to get as far as he did for about the same reasons as Trump: he told the people what they wanted to hear. Bernie's downfall was the DNC is just as corrupt and wanting to keep the status quo as much as possible. Same thing with the GOP, except they let Trump walk all over them and put them in a no-win situation when it came to trying to win the support of minorities, women, and the religious groups who will not support Hillary.

That's not getting into the fact the DNC and GOP want to squash any possible opportunities for third parties to be viable choices, but that's an entirely different mattter altogether.

There goes the efforts to get nationalism out of the hands of dickheads and racialists.

I remember somebody here saying Trump didn't need to "pander" to minorities...clearly that is turning out to be wronger than wrong.

Make of this what you will, I feel sorry for the kids of that 20%

So the majority of Americans feel that someone who actively endorses cheating, lying, stealing and bribing her way to power and wealth is a good role model for children. What is wrong with people?

You kind of need a source before you decide that half of your country are 'Far Right Lunatics.'

Don't pay any attention to him. @feedtheoctopus is sort of like bizarro world brandobaris in that he's just as crazy, but he sees racists and militia members everywhere instead of Jewish conspiracies.

I'm curious, when did she cheat? Never heard that outside a discussion about how the election is rigged.
And to be fair, most people don't dive into the meat of most people's stories. I didn't know anything about her as a person until the election kicked off. Hell, I didn't realize she got her start in child advocacy, especially her involvment with CHIP.
A fair portion of Clinton's supporters are on board with her strictly because she's a woman. Given that ironic sexism, Sanders might have had trouble securing their votes, but I doubt they'd have voted for Trump in quantity.

Based on what I've read in the polls and seen when talking amongst friends (with a mix of politics between them), I would say Democrats are underestimating just how corrosive Clinton is to their support.
I see the opposite. Most the volunteers I talk to aren't doing it due to her lack of a Y chromosome. A bunch of them are parents, mostly mothers. I can see how they get her appeal based on her tax credits for children. College students are the ones more likely to be shallow, but the ones I spoke two were gushing over the College Compact, which kicks the shit out of Trump's non-existant plan.

I think the idea that nobody would seriously like Hillary is more due to our insistence to file people into pure good and total evil. Humans are different than that. Not everyone who is supporting Trump is a mouth foaming psychotic who hates brown people, and not everyone supporting Hillary are bulldykes and cucks or gimmiedats.

I personally have some reservations about the college compact and how it'll work, but on the surface it's looking like pretty much exactly what I'd like it to be.

I've been away from my computer for a while, has anything meme-worthy happened recently?

Being able to refinance loans and capping the federal loan's interest? That's way the fuck more possible than anything offered by anyone. State schools not operating like corperations is also a plus, but baby steps. Anyone who puts the whole department of education on the cutting block needs to be beaten to death with $300+ textbooks
