Because (bar this years primaries) they've been good at predicting elections. Not perfect but good. Plus they're formulas are more favorable to trump then others.

The Democrat's overall lead for congressional races was 49 to 42 percent, the party's biggest advantage since October 2013, according the poll, which was conducted immediately after the revelation of Trump's lewd 2005 comments but before Sunday night's debate.

In a two-way competition, Hillary Clinton's lead also widened againstDonald Trump by 7 points from last month.

The poll said Clinton is also leading Trump by 11 points in a four-way ballot with Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson and Green party candidate Jill Stein.

"Trump is in a weaker position than our September track. It also does not mean he can't get these points back," said NBC-WSJ co-pollster Bill McInturff.

You can hear the CNN reporter saying "America is great, because we are good" and then she wants to ask what stood out to her in the debate, and the undecided voter says the line that she was just told to repeat.

It was a live interview I'm pretty sure. It was done minutes after the debate was over.

Those all could have happened, but they cut right to the segment and everyone performed fine. It seems like CNN's live segments are scripted, and "undecided voters" are following CNN's script.

What makes me think it's not is because they would have coached them far in advance. Why would they wait till the last minute to heavily skew opinions? You cant make them repeat candidates talking point but you can tell what things she could say and how to spin them positively beforehand.

However I can agree CNN is terrible and capable of doing anything for ratings.

Nate throws a lot of his own undefined methodology into it. It was so embarrassingly off for the Republican primaries he actually wrote a blog post formally apologizing for it.

This is why I trust him on the rest of the election. He admitted acting like a self righteous pundit and didn't spin his failures. Therefore we have a more trump sympathetic analysis not that takes his poling seriously and doesn't treat it like a joke.
