That sounds like something America NEEDS. America treats those raising newborn children like crap, compared to other places in the world. I don't care who does it - something like this needs to have happened in the US (as in, become law) a long time ago.

Too bad it'll never happen with how things are and doing so would be fucking expensive... UGH. Makes me sick, regardless, knowing other places do it (and for good reasons, too.).

Doesn't really matter. After the workforce became essentially unisex, there were suddenly double the amount of workers in the workforce. Wages go down, Wall Street speculators and the Federal Reserve keep pushing inflation up, so today instead of a single man being able to pay for a 2 story house in a nice neighbourhood with a wife and 3 children, now you have a couple both working to keep their shitshack while barely paying for a kid, no one is there to raise the child since everyone working their ring out to survive, as soon as a kid can walk and feed themselves, its up their iPhone to teach them the ways of the world.

Feminism taught Women that homemaking, caretaking, raising children, are useless pursuits. You have to be more like man.... for some reason.

Tangential but, WWII showed Women they could be financially independent without men, that, combined with rote learning and memory becoming more useful than problem solving or physical strength in the modern era, meant Women could excel in chosen business fields. The Second Wave Feminism of the 60's and 70's, aside from giving these Women proper worker rights, also taught Women that Child Rearing, Stable Households, Motherhood, despite being the main pillar of society, were not something to aspire to, they were not things that were ambitions you should devote your life to, that being a Man with a Career was the only real thing to aspire to. Essentially they taught misogyny to themselves. If Women fails at a career, they can fall back on their looks; modelling/sex work, or they can fall back on motherhood, or fall back on being an intellectual/activist/writer/artist. In society, Men are only one of two things, a Man with a Career, or a loser, and so society shoots itself in the foot.

But you are saying doubling the workforce would not drive wages down? Is that what you are saying?

if only someone had invented some kind of machine after WW2 that made storing large amounts of information and performing mundane, repetitive tasks easier then we wouldn't be in this mess

Yes you're right; computers, automation, offshoring manafacturing, have only compounded these problems.

I already agreed with you, Women in the workforce, Offshore manufacturing, increased job automation, gearing education more towards Women, lower funding for Men's programs are all factors towards decreased Male involvement in society. But the fact remains, after WWII, it is now a Unisex workforce, essentially doubling it and driving wages down.

But just remember it's still a mans world
