Most people who wrap themselves around a party or candidate (rather than a cause...well actually they fuck up and go radical as well, but I think you get what I mean) tend to become disconnected from reality and/or biased when it comes time to defend their actions or those of their candidates.

I don't disbelieve that certain people would deny these sort of things going on because they actually believe it. They are so dedicated to their horse in the race that they'll deny whatever bad shit heads their way.
 
This election is a nightmare that I can't wake up from. It used to be both parties took turns shitting the bed. Did they just synch their cycles or something like a pack of highschool girls?

They even both chose shithole cities for their conventions, like as if to make a visual representation of how things are. On one hand we have Cleveland, a city that is just morbid depression personified, and on the other we have Philly, which nowadays is mostly known for just beating the shit out of everything.

I have a theory on that score. The Democratic party is the party of the dumb as the GOP is the party of the stupid. So every cycle we grow more apart on policy, but get closer to the singularity of picking people that are dumb and stupid. Case in point, the Affordible Care Act was called Obama care by Republicans and that was pretty stupid. The Democrats where dumb enough to call it Obamacare too. And our President, leader of the dumb and the stupid called it Obamacare too. Its not Obamacare though, its a healthcare law, Obamacare takes away a neuteral starting point to discuss it.

They haven't been hiding it since the 90's. The media always pander to their demographic. Imagine what would happen if something like the Kennedy assassination happened in the age of Huffington Post and Breitbart or Fox. We already had news outlets using the term race war as a fucking declaritive statement. The media is always going to be seen as a shill by opposition, even if they purged literally everyone via public hanging, people would still do the stupid fucking (((Sheriff star))) thing

Frankly, as a foreigner, why Republicans still call themselves the GOP is beyond me. I guess the "Reps" doesn't really sound right either but Gop sounds like some bodily function or an obscure racist slur. "Grand Old Party", must come from a time where President's had awesome nicknames like "Old Hickory".

They still try to run on the idea of being the "Party of Lincoln" as if that's remotely relevant any more. They brought it up endlessly at the convention. Meanwhile, Trump gave a pessimistic, America-hating, gloom and doom speech that qualifies him as the anti-Reagan.
