The Reform Party at least lasted long enough before collapsing into its current ruin for Buchanan to sap a few thousand Floridian votes from Gore due to the inability of some people to read ballots.
 
why didn't obama just straight up endorse hillary for the dem nomination from the start to destroy sanders' chance at the nomination and save everybody time and money campaigning for the nomination which would have been clinton's in any case

It's because (and this should be obvious enough by now, FACT!) Not a lot of people like or trust Hillary enough. Then again... JON CENA could whoop both her (and Trump's) ass(es), honestly, and it would be better for all of us.

The Obamas and the Clinton's despise each other. Hillary even ran an overtly racist campaign against Obama in 2008.

I legitimately think John Cena would not only beat Trump if he was the Democratic (or even third party) candidate, but would also be a far better President because of both his philanthropy (having granted over 500 Make-A-Wish Foundation wishes, more than any other person in history) and the fact he's an actor. The last actor we had was was Regan IIRC and he helped end the Cold War among other things that made him a great president.
