All discussion of the candidates, updates and results should go here

For example- here's a video of Ted Cruz vying for world domination.

Also Hilary Clinton is a crook and nobody should have sex with her.

Discuss

Obama only had barely 100 pledged delegates more than Clinton at the end of the 2008 contests.

Clinton currently has more than 3-times that against Sanders.

I'm not going to argue that means Clinton is in 3-times a better position than Obama, but using the closeness of the primary as a metric for analyzing how good the candidate's general prospects are doesn't quite hold.
Obviously she'll win the nomination. But she doesn't have the huge young/minority demographic advantage Obama enjoyed. It was cool for a 20 year old to vote Obama. Now it's cool for a 20 year old to be against Trump. But not voting for Trump doesn't mean a vote for Hillary. A lot of 20 somethings will simply stay home and count it as sticking it to Trump.

She needs to hold on to as much Democrat rank and file support she can muster. If she alienates too many Sanders supporters they might just sit out the election or vote for someone who isn't her. The longer it drags on the more support she'll bleed from them, and the enthusiasm gap compared to 2008/2012 means she can't afford to lose too much of them like Obama could with PUMAs.

To me it's not that it's a personal attack (that's just par for the course), it's just that it's such a shitty one.
Trump's spent his entire life detatched from reality in a way 99-plus percent of humanity can't even daydream about. Usually people need some degree of intelligence before they can on purpose lie in perpetuity. Normal people are fucked to death by angry mobs if their crookery's even half this obvious.

He's Charles Darwin, Adam Smith, and Karl Marx's cruel joke to the Peter Principle.

If there's one thing Clinton knows how to do, it's fling shit at her opponents in a campaign. Trump is, well, Trump.
I'm interested in seeing how both of them will approach the General Election campaign and do their best to court not only the voters of their respective parties, but the independents as well.

Is there a "lesser of two evils" between the two of them? Clinton's a politician to the core and the darling of the Wall Street interests (not to mention the support of one of the Koch brothers), and the other has no political experience and a mouth that's disconnected from his brain more often than not.

Which one do you think would have the most success dealing with Putin?

After Palin, I'm not convinced Trump could point to Russia on a map.

Also, it's worth noting that Putin endorsed Trump for the presidency. Make of that what you will.

Cruz reportedly ended his concession speech with "This is the Zodiac speaking, I'm dropping out of the race."

Oh boy, this election managed to get worse... It's going to be the one election nobody wants and we're gonna have an even worse four years than we did with Bush and Obama.

This is what happens when the far left and the far right get what they want. We get the most unlikable and most authoritarian and corrupt candidates possible.
Wouldn't the far left be Sanders? He certainly appeals to more progressive policies than Clinton, or takes them slightly further. And he doesn't appear to have 'gotten what he wanted' at all.
