All discussion of the candidates, updates and results should go here

For example- here's a video of Ted Cruz vying for world domination.

Also Hilary Clinton is a crook and nobody should have sex with her.

Discuss

Polling update- Indiana*

US-wide approval:

*That poll with cruz 16 points ahead looks like an outlier. Even 358 is giving it very little weight since it's methodology was weak (Covering a full 2 weeks worth of gathering among other things.)

The cruz campaign is quietly preparing for a loss

While aides didn’t dismiss the possibility of an upset, they acknowledged that polling had consistently shown Cruz behind. A loss, they worried, could intensify questions about his staying power and hamper fundraising.
Cruz isn’t the only one taking stock of his prospects. Appearing before the California Republican Party on Saturday night, John Kasich appeared to acknowledge his fading prospects.

"I've been endorsed by over 70 newspapers,” the Ohio governor said. “Wish it mattered."

oh Kasich :story:

Also a poll was released today showing trump ahead by 15 points in Indiana.

538 Is giving this poll considerable weight. He now leads in both variations of their forecasts

If trump wins Indiana it's over. He will be he nominee. They'll be no contested convention and #Nevertrump will completely collapse on itself.

I could have told you that months ago. Every time Daddy had a bad couple of days everyone was ready to count him out but I knew he'd recover. Daddy never loses, and he will Make America Great Again!

Sanders is going to drop out soon. Expect a tidal wave of salt.
There'll definitely be a tidal wave of salt when he concedes, but that probably won't be until after California. For now, there's still a lot of sanderistas who're totally convinced he's somehow going to lure a bunch of superdelegates to vote for him and/or Hillary's going to be indicted any day now.

Maybe on Twitter and tumblr and the like but by and large I don't expect much more PUMA bullshit than there was in 2008, when it was also the domain of a few angry nuts. Ironically, it was PUMAs who originated the incredibly stupid birther conspiracy theory later espoused by bloviating liar Donald Trump even though he knows it's false.

I'm personally partial to the people who failed Algebra I and have somehow convinced themselves that the math favors Sanders.

The great thing about the people reporting on the Bernie or Bust people this year, is that the polls asked during each state's primaries about whether Bernie supporters would be okay with Hillary if she won shows that significantly more Bernie supporters would be okay with Clinton if she won, then Hillary supporters would've been okay with Obama if he had won back in 2008. The Bernie or Bust movement makes up a far smaller amount of the Bernie base than the PUMA did Hillary's base in 2008, and the PUMAs pretty much all went over to Obama in the end regardless.

And in 2008, the choices for the PUMAs were between Obama and McCain, and they still went to Obama, despite the fact that McCain was more of a moderate Republican and thus somewhat more appealing to a Democratic voter. This time, the Bernie or Bust people have the choice between Hillary, and Trump, who is effectively seen by the Left as Satan, nothing like the moderate Republican McCain that the PUMAs could have chosen, but still hadn't.
