All discussion of the candidates, updates and results should go here

For example- here's a video of Ted Cruz vying for world domination.

Also Hilary Clinton is a crook and nobody should have sex with her.

It's (finally) the end for Donald Trump. And the party as a whole. He just couldn't survive three attacks against women in a row.

A brokered convention is now 100% assured, and the GOP is going to fucking implode after they nominate someone who never even ran.
It's not 100% certain at this point, but it's the most likely scenario, assuming things hold relatively constant. :heart-full:

Unfortunately (at least from my perspective), that probably means that Ted Cruz wins the presidential nomination, based on all of the potential scenarios that are being talked about right now. He'd still probably lose, but he'd have a better shot, and would be far less damaging to the GOP brand, than Donald Trump.

Depends how they did it. If Trump somehow gets his 1,237 delegates and the GOP hands it to some guy who didn't even run, in an obviously rigged process, just as an example, the enraged response of Trump supporters and his possible third party run might wreck them even worse than letting him run and lose.

Regardless of what happens, the Republican party is going to need to do some deep soul searching after this election.

If Trump gets 1,237 delegates, then he's 99.9% certain to receive the nomination. Regardless, if he isn't the Republican nominee, Trump won't really have the time to run as a third party or independent candidate, as a lot of ballot access deadlines will have passed, and there's no way his campaign's shit-tacular organization can suddenly flip and become a signature-gathering machine. He could try running a write-in campaign, but, realistically, that probably won't do much.

A lot of states also have "sore loser" statutes preventing you from being put on the ballot if you lose a primary contest. This doesn't prevent you from actually running, but makes it an exercise in futility.

Nah, they'll do what they always do- say it was somebody elses fault and then tack to the right.

Charles Koch Is Privately Committed To Getting Paul Ryan Nominated In Cleveland: Source
A major investor in the Republican Party sees a chance to snatch back the nomination.
Koch believes Ryan would be a “shoo-in” at a contested convention, should the campaign get to that point. Though Koch’s wealth gives him significant influence within the Republican Party, it does not necessarily translate into skill in political prognostication. Still, he and his brother David are fond of Ryan. As a source close to the brothers told The Huffington Post, they appreciate the agenda he has pursued as speaker, including opposition to tax extenders and heightened warnings against corporate welfare — positions that contrast with the admittedly vague portfolio pushed by Donald Trump.

The financial backers of the party are really committed to getting Ryan nominated.

I'd like to see it happen really. Just totally rub it in the faces of the rank and file that they don't mean shit and they're just cattle to the billionaires. Get them nice and riled up.

Praise Citizens United, the Supreme Court decision that says that billionaires own our elections lock, stock and barrel.

Brazil's political system is in deep shit and I expect massive changes or a revolt if said change doesn't happen.
I think the American political system won't last long.

I fear you're correct and it scares me because of how many gung ho idiots with guns there are in the U.S. If a revolt against the government ever happened an incredible amount of bloodshed would occur.

At least you have guns, here the goverment took them using retarded arguments and gave them to populist militias.
We fucked here.

Hillary still has no idea why Sanders is opposing her. She's actually starting to get angry.

Fuck dat beeyotch right in the pussy.

I've seen Shillary supporters resorting to claiming it's "misogyny" not to like that hag a lot more lately. Fucking bitch doesn't want an election, she wants a coronation with everyone in a circle sucking her dick.
